He had some power! Low average Kevin Maas type. I had an irrational hatred for Balboni when I was a yoot and he played for the Royals. I think it was because he always looked like an asshole on his baseball cards. I remember being pissed when the Yankees signed him in the early 90's.  He does have a "distinctive" face. |

Cutter thigh high on the corner inside fouled, 3-2
Cutter inside middle above the waist, fouled
Sinker down and in, fouls it off his foot, still 3-2
Cutter inner 3rd, about 3 inches low, Isbel goes down and gets it, drills a liner toward the corner in right, Soto tries to cut it off, can't, rolls to the wall, Isbel running hard all the way steams into 3rd with a 2 out triple.

I'm stuck with the Royals broadcast on Extra Innings. Rex Hudler was talking about breaking in with the Yankees and how when he walked into the Stadium fans would yell at him "you'll never replace Randolph you bum." He was laughing about it, but it shows that fans don't change much. The fans were right. |
