Nick Anderson, who once was a power closer for a while, comes in for the Royals. Curve to the knees not called, 20% on Gameday, Volpe got a break there, 1-0 Curve into the top of the zone, 1-1 FB maybe got a tiny piece of the low inside corner, not called, 2-1, 10-15% on Gameday and Volpe should've already ꓘ'd. Chases a curve diving low, 2-2 Another curve way low bounces, but started far enough outside that volpe didn't chase. FB at 95 below and outside middle, Volpe hits it hard to deep right of center, but not deep enough. Isbel goes back to haul it in, inning over.
Yanks tack on one, knocking out Singer and lead 7-0 going bottom 7.
Witt, Pasquantino and Perez for the Royals, 2-3-4, in their half of the 6th.
If anyone cares, Rizzo's 3 groundouts tonight, 96.8, 97.4 and 104.9, and all he gets is an 0-3 so far. Well, maybe he's finding his timing. I hope.

Yep. But North Carolina BBQ is awfully good too. Can you BBQ liver mush?

Witt... Cutter above and outside middle taken, 0-1 Splitter in the middle is 3-4 inches low, taken, 1-1 Slider in the zone low/away, misses under and late, fouling it off, 1-2 Slider way outside, no chase, 2-2 If I'm Witt I'm looking for a sinker to the corner away. And he threw it but it missed waist high 6 inches outside, 3-2

Wells drills another hit. Nice to see him heating up finally! If he can start putting up numbers with regularity, Wells would change this lineup immensely.

Anyone tried KC barbecue? I thought KC was famous for their steaks as Texas famous for barbecue beef brisket and ribs. Yes, very good BBQ in KC. Arthur Bryant's is probably the most famous. As I have done in re-enacting scenes from other songs, in Kansas City I stood on the corner of 12th Street and Vine. With my Kansas City baby (my wife) and a bottle of Kansas City wine, purchased for just that occasion. I have also deliberately in San Francisco sat on the dock of the bay. Wasting time, much to my wife's chagrin.

Sinker at the knees outside middle, and Witt goes with it, grounds it up the middle into center for a leadoff single.

Cutter backs up just outside, 1-0 on Pasquantino
Hmmm...Dan Pasqua + Tino Martinez = Pasquantino + DanMartinez...
The mind wanders... Splitter low. 2-0 Cutter well high, 3-0 Cutter inside ball 4. 1st and 2nd, nobody out for Perez, and Stroman is in a jam again.

Blake goes out to give Stroman a breather. Cutter bounced well outside, ball 1 to Perez. Marinaccio warming? Who did they send down or IL?
