I know we went to an Amish restaurant once that we decided against. They served family style, so if you wanted the mashed potatoes you asked someone to pass them. It just felt uncomfortable with total strangers. It was obvious that we weren’t their target market because the greeter explained the rules and regulations before we went in. We looked at the crowd at the table and we were definitely dressed differently from the other folks… so we slinked away… slunk? We got the hell out of there… Was that the Naked Amish Buffet?  |

I was there once. Amazing crowd and excellent food. I think I had fried chicken. We’re going back about 35 years here… The fried chicken looked wonderful.  Everything was made from scratch throughout the day.  Even had scrapple.  That place was just far enough from my house to not quite want to go there. It was close to work, but as a road sales guy if I would have eaten there daily I might have weighed 300 pounds. Some days I just ate peanut better crackers and kept rolling so I could keep my appointments. Some days I skipped lunch. Some days were 5 Guys or Chik-Fil-A… |
