Pitching coach goes out to give Irvin a break before he faces Judge. Maybe telling him to pitch around and go after Verdugo, who hasn't hit anything hard off him.

Curve dives to the knees inside corner, swung over, 0-1 No fastballs, I guess. Cutter into the top, swung under, 0-2 Fb inside, Judge hardly moves, taken, 1-2 FB inside middle Judge a bit late and under, fouls it off. Not pitching around, really. Cutter backs up way outside, Rutschman lunges to make the stab, saving the WP and a run. Curve appeared to have gotten a piece of the low outside corner, 10% on Gameday, not called, 3-2. Judge takes advantage of the break, lines a sinker below middle to left, Hays dives, can't hold it, goes for a RBI single, Yanks cut it to 11-5. And that's all for Irvin. Yanks hit him hard again today, but couldn't stop the O's offense.

Judge with a bullet that evades the diving effort of Willie Mays Hays. Judge's BA is up to .306.

17 hitters put the ball in play off Irvin. 4 of them between 90 and 95 exit velo 5 of them between 95 and 100 3 of them over 100 mph, all three above 105, two of them 110 or more.

Clay "Pot Chicken" Rapada was better than Tim "Fool On A" Hill Who is Tim Hill and why is he on this team? Was Sidney Ponson not available? First choice was Sergio Mitre, but I think he’s got about 50 more years in jail…

A Stanton two run homer might be sweet about now.

Bullet from Stanton, and good base running by Judge to get to third base.

Hard throwing righty Baker hits the inside corner with a 97 FB, 0-1 Slider backs up inside corner, but the call is lost because Rutschman had to move across the plate, should be 0-2, Stanton gets a break. Slider outside corner waist high, taken, 1-2 FB way high, 2-2 Slider misses just low, no chance to get that call because Rutschman had to bring the mitt down from the zone to catch it. 3-2 Judge goes, but Stanton fouls off a FB above the zone Change on the corner away, lined off the end of the bat, to left foe a hit, Judge takes a big risk, challenges Hays and barely beats the throw, 1st and 3rd, two down.

Verdugo in a slump. Fallen off a cliff since that first Red Sox game.

But that's as far as the rally gets. FB near middle, Verdugo hits it hard but right to Westburg, who throws out Verdugo to end the inning. Top 6, 11-5 O's.
100.7 on that hard grounder.

Keep chipping away..Yankees might get there. The way I always see it. I they scored that many, we can too… That's the spirit! It would help if someone other than the top four hitters would get hot.

Verdugo in a slump. Fallen off a cliff since that first Red Sox game. But his great, what looked to be game-saving play, in last night's game was wasted.

Verdugo in a slump. Fallen off a cliff since that first Red Sox game. 2 for 19 since then, 1 run, no RBI, no extra base hits, to be exact. It's just 5 games, but they need him going.
