Trevino... Curve to the knees not called, another missed call, 80-90% on Gameday, Trevino got a big break, 1-0 Slider outside, 2-0 Slider just above the corner low/away, taken 2-1 Slider on the corner away, waist high, taken, 2-2 Slider outside 3-2 Takes his timeout Slider in ties up Trevino, soft bouncer to Henderson, flips to Westburg, relay is well in time an easy 6-4-3 ends the inning. Leadoff gift walk goes nowhere. Top 7, 12-5 O's.
Santander, Westburg and Hays for the O's in the 7th, 6-7-8.

Just popping in to ask: Do we think teams finally have enough tape on Gil? Is his OMG start going to turn pedestrian now? Or is he just in a little slump? I think it's a confluence of several things: 1. Fastball command was bad today. 2. Change-up wasn't moving consistently, leading to hangers. 3. Baltimore can rake. 4. Baltimore had a team plan to attack fastballs early in the count. 5. Gil could use a get-me-over curveball to vary strike one. Something that has a change of plane break - via north and south. 6. Cole is back, so he wants to stay in the rotation. 7. He now has very high expectations. 8. Misplay by Soto to start the game accelerated his demise today.

Sale is healthy again. And Morton usually pitches well against the Yanks And Fried has his form back. This could well be a 2-5 homestand or even 1-6.

Giradi hit the nail on the head. Damon and Matsui should have been brought back for 2010.

Mullins... Slider low/away, 1-0 Sinker near middle, taken, 1-1 Slider outside at the knees, 2-1 Sinker away, hit hard up the middle, Volpe dives behind 2nd to his left to snag it, rolls around, backflips on target and on time to Cabrera to get the force, another terrific play. Cabrera should eat the relay, but throws ot first way late, 2 down.

Once they have a lead, Baltimore sure doesn't take their foot off the accelerator.

Hays... Sinker in the zone down and in, strike 1 Terrible change down the middle, blasted to the back of the Orioles pen, 2 run HR makes it 14-5 He might love the FB Joe, but that was a CHANGEUP AT 88.

Urias... Sinker low 1-0 Sinker in the zone up and away, rolled over to 3rd, DJ throws him out, inning over. The only good news about the Hays HR is that it makes the Yanks eligible for using a player to relieve in the 9th.
Bottom 7, 14-5 O's.
Cabrera, then back to the top for Volpe and Soto. If I'm Boone, I think about getting Soto and Judge out of there after their next at bat.

This season is reminding me of 2022. Great start, then the look of a totally different team following injuries.
