Some Really poor at bats going on with the Yankees ... They look like they are going through the motions. Gleyber and DJL are just terrible these days ... no power no pop These at bats are not poor. This is what Fried does to even good teams when he's on his game Outstanding control of 7 pitches and almost twice as many variations on those pitches. Hard to tell because they look like this against every pitcher lately Throw in Grisham's disgustingly bad at bats and Trevino's undisciplined at ABs and this is a pretty easy lineup to maneuver |

FB in the zone up and away, pulled to the 34 hole, past a diving Albies for a leadoff single
Maybe the Yanks can do something with a leadoff runner with Volpe, Soto and Judge due.

I know you mean recently, but so far, this is more Fried and the Yanks lack of familiarity with him. Volpe takes a cutter high, then fouls off a FB below middle, Waits on a curve outside middle and drives it to the left center gap, goes to the wall, Grisham scores from 1st, and the Yanks are on the board, down 3-1!! |

Takes a curve low and away.
Gets a sinker outside middle, hits it hard own the 3rd base line, just foul. Dangit.
Slider in almost the same spot as the sinker, fouls it off his foot.
Sinker away, grounded to the left of 2nd, Volpe takes a big gamble and goes for 3rd, and Arica sees it all the way, and throws him out by a step.
Fairly close play, Volpe slid to the home plate side and maybe the tag wasn't in time. Yanks will challenge, but I don't think it gets overturned.
Call confirmed, challenge lost. Tag on the hip, lower back before he hit the bag. 1 down, man on 1st and Volpe blows a RISP for Judge.
