I was about to say that the Darlins says that Rice likes the ball inside and they can work him away, but most of his hits have been the other way, so far. And they give him a waist high sinker on the outside corner, and he lines it to left, but fortunately for the Mets, they've paid more attention to where Rice has been hitting the ball than their announcers, and Nimmo is playing close to the line, and doesn't have to move much to catch it. Inning over. Yanks leave two more on base, and get 2. But are still way down, 7-2, going bottom 6.

Brown Rice is not easy to strike out. I like his at bats. Keep this kid in the lineup every single day. He may just get hot. If Rice gets benched one more game, so Jones can be in the lineup, Boone should lose his job. |

Slider backs well up and away, 2-0
Takes a bad slider right down the middle, 2-1
Sinker on the inside corner, thigh high, fouled, 2-2
Curve drops into the zone just outside middle, Nimmo is late and under, pops to Verdugo in medium left, 1 down.

Slider to the top inside corner, check swing foul, 1-1 on Martinez.
Good sharp slider fools Martinez into a chase about 6 inches outside at the knees. 1-2
Slider thigh high, outside middle, Martinez is a bit late and under, popped to Judge in shortish right center, 2 down.

Fb at the high inside corner at just 91, Alonso misses under, 0-1
FB outside above the waist, 1-1
Slider drops 3-4 inches low, near the corner away, 2-1
Slider way low, outside middle, 3-1
Slider freezes Alonso, breaks to the inside corner, waist high, 3-2
FB in the zone a bit up and in, fouls it off to the right.
Good slider again, just outside at the knees, Alonso does well to spoil it.
FB near the top outside corner, fouled back.

10th pitch of the at bat. Slider backs up inside and clips Alonson on the front arm. HBP>
Blake goes out to give Gomez some rest.
19 pitches so far this inning for Gomez and 38 total so far.

Sinker maybe got a small piece of the zone in the middle at the very bottom, 0-1% on Gameday.
Slider bounced outside, taken, 1-1
Terrible hanging slider in the drop the bat happy zone, and Taylor jumps ugly on it, 3-run blast to left makes it 10-2 Mets.
I...think Boone can go get Gomez now.
Assuming he was smart enough to have someone warming, that is.
