Hopefully that wasn't the game.

Top of the order for the Reds in the 8th: India, De La Cruz and Candelario. I hope not against Tim Hill, but not sure who else they can go to here. Everyone else besides Holmes worked last night, and they're not going to Holmes in the 8th inning of a game they're behind in.

This team's ability to hit into double plays over the last several years is mind boggling

This team's ability to hit into double plays over the last several years is mind boggling They were 1st in MLB coming into this game, but the Padres were just 2 behind, thanks to Machado who was leading all of MLB last time I checked. Kahnle comes in to pitch back to back games.

India... can't check on a slider low/away, 0-1 FB outside, 1-1 Fouls off a change outside middle, 1-2 Slider at the knees spoiled Change misses low/away, 2-2 Change into the zone low/away with good 2 plane movement gets a swing and a miss, K, 1 down.

De La Cruz takes a change low. Fouls off a change low in the middle Change tails outside a good 4-5 inches called a strike anyway. In a game with at least 5-10 bad calls, that one might've been the worst, big break for Kahnle, 1-2 De La Cruz takes his timeout after that one and I don't blame him a bit. Change way low/away taken, 2-2 Change just below and outside middle, pulled/topped to Davis, he fields and flips to Kahnle, 2 down.

This team's ability to hit into double plays over the last several years is mind boggling We added contact this year, but we didn’t do anything to add speed. We’re plodders…

Candelario takes a FB outside middle, 0-1 Change well low in the middle, 1-1 Change outside, chased and fouled, 1-2 FB at the top, late and under, pops to DJ foul off 3rd, catches, inning over. Another solid 1-2-3 for Kahnle. Bottom 8, 3-2 Reds. Lucas Sims will come in to pitch to Davis or a PH, Torres and Verdugo.

Sox up 4-1 in the top of the 9th. Astros break it open with 4 in the 7th, lead 6-2 over the Jays Royals get 2 in the 3rd, lead the Rays 2-1 in the 4th. O's don't start in Seattle for another 50 minutes.

Rice does PH for Davis, as I guessed he might.
Sims mostly Fastball and slider (85% combined) also has a cutter a splitter and a curve.

I wasn’t all that excited when we got Kahnle back, but he’s been pretty durned good… Good inning by Kahnle, but does he have a breaking pitch that dives the opposite way as his change? Seems like he could backdoor lefties who are looking change (as they should) to good effect.

Gleyber right to the pitcher. He beats out the DP.
