FB above the waist, hit to deep right center, Soto has the green light, it drops in, and Soto runs weirdly, would have been well out by plenty, but the throw is offline and Rafaela drops it. Leadoff double, anyway.

Sounds like it was just a can of corn hit to the right part of the right ballpark. We like to them when they go our way… but that one sucked… In the old Stadium, an athletic OF, like Winfield might have caught it. |

Splitter low near the corner away, Judge starts, barely checks in time, 1st base ump says no swing.
Humps up to 95 with a FB on the corner away below the waist, but Judge fouls it off.
Sets up the cutter well out of the zone low/aay, which he throws and Judge can't check in time, home plate ump rings him up. K.
Juddge now 3-16 vs. Crawford with 9 K's.

FB at the bottom in the middle, fouled off.
Slider above middle, decent swing, a fliner to left, but stays up for O'Neil, catches, inning over.
Forget about 1-2 relievers, Yanks need to add a middle of the order bat. Or they can wait, fruitlessly for Stanton and Rizzo to come off the IL, and need a month to find their swings again.

Crawford might be done at 68 pitches through 7 after another 14 pitch inning.
