I think they call him the Martian because no Earthling could misplay two fly balls in Seattle and not score from second on a clear single to right.

I think they call him the Martian because no Earthling could misplay two fly balls in Seattle and not score from second on a clear single to right. He obviously lost track of the ball that dropped 10' to his left...not sure why. He lost the one that went off his glove in the sun...the reflection off his glove indicated the sun was a problem, as was the ball hit to Arozarena later in the game. On the play in the in the 10th last night, Rojas held him up...the right thing to do with no outs & Soto on deck.

They said he ran to third with his head down, not paying attention to Rojas's instructions. Let's just say I'm not impressed with him in the field or the basepaths.

I had the A's telecast and they said Rojas was waving him home but he never looked at the 3rd base Coach. They isolated on Dominguez when they replayed him running to 3rd, and to me it did appear he never looked at Rojas who was down the line. They didn't show Rojas so I couldn't tell if he was waving him in or holding him up. I do know they had a discussion when Jason was standing on 3rd base and Rojas seemed frustrated. From what I saw, it looked like a base running mistake to me but again. I did not see what Rojas was signaling. The A's broadcasters felt that Dominguez should have scored and would have if he had picked up the Coach.

Can't find a video that shows Rojas, but as I recall Rojas was initially holding him before Butler bobbled the ball. Rojas might've waved him home then, but it was too late.

I did not see what Rojas was signaling. The A's broadcasters felt that Dominguez should have scored and would have if he had picked up the Coach. Found the video. Rojas absolutely held him up...no question. Never waved him home. Also...Dominguez did not have his head down...looking directly at Rojas the entire time.

Either way, moot point. Let’s also remember that at his age and experience, Dominguez has not had time defensively to adjust to the vagaries of MLB ball parks, which are much different, especially lighting, and shadows from nosebleed sections combined with blazing sunlight all in a step or two.

They're wrong, Rojas not only held Dominquez up but he held him up early. Dominquez then scored a couple pitches later on a passed ball that most Yankee base runners wouldn't have scored on.

Julio Rodriquez dropped a ball in CF in that series too. It happens.
