The dangerous Parades is up...man on 2nd, 2 down. Slider waist high, outer 3rd, taken, 0-1 Bad sinker waist high, just outside middle, but he's late and under, fouls it off the right side, 0-2 Starts the slider at him, and misses the target by the whole plate. With Wells set up on the corner away, it winds up backing up and in to the high inside corner and Parades swings under it for the K Very effective gross location error by Cousins gets the Yanks out of the small jam, inning over.
Top 6, 4-1 Rays. Verdugo, Torres and Wells for the Yanks in the 6th.

Thought it was the change going outside, but it was a slider breaking middle instead. Regardless of what type of pitch he might be looking for, he should protecting the plate when down two strikes... Protecting the plate on a pitch that winds up being a change well outside is chase K rather than a ꓘ. He might have given up on it or not recognized it out of Pepiot's hand, which is sort of understandable as it was just his 2nd career at bat vs. him.

Verdugo takes a change that barely clips the outside corner, not called, marginal bad call there. Misses a 93 FB near the top of the zone outside middle, 1-1 FB tails outside, 2-1 Slider well inside, 3-1 Change in the zone low/away, spoiled FB at the top outside corner, spoiled Change tails well outside, taken, ball 4 Good patient at bat by Verdugo results in a leadoff BB. Let's see if the Yanks can make something productive of that.

Torres takes a slider dropping on the high, outside corner, 0-1 MIsses a slider on the corner away, thigh high, 0-2 Slider well outside, taken, 1-2 FB above the inner half, Torres starts but checks well in time, 2-2 Change bounced over the outer 3rd, 3-2 Please don't top a change down and in to Parades...

Third base umpire should have backed up DJ and thrown out Rosario. That would have made my night. Banana Ball!! A few days ago when the Yankees were going through one of their many recent beatdowns I discovered a Savannah Bananas game. Very entertaining. Guys doing backflips before catching a flyball, throwing across the diamond from between their legs, pitching while walking on stilts -- I abandoned the Yanks for a few innings and got much more pleasure. Maybe the Yankees should try some of that. It seems to work for the Bananas.

Torres takes his timeout. Change at the knees outside middle, ALMOST bounced to Parades, but he pulled it to the coaching box off 3rd. Tops a FB outside toward short, Walls charges to the grass, fields and fires a strike, Verdugo to 2nd on the swining bunt, 1 down.

Fouls off a FB just below the waist, inner 3rd Fouls off another FB waist high, inner 3rd, and you had your chances, Wells. Fb at the top, inner 3rd, popped high on the infield, Caballero watches it in the mystery roof, comes the the "grass" near the mound, catches, 2 down. And that's it for Pepiot, Poche coming in (I think) to face Volpe. 2 down, man on 2nd.

Nope, it's Kevin Kelly, not Poche.

Cash lifts Pepiot after a sterling performance. That is not a .300 BAA change up. Something was different tonight, because that was his best pitch.

Volpe is 2-3 vs. Kelly with 1 RBI and 1 K. Could use another hit here, Anthouny.

His change was his best offspeed pitch in the minors, but he must have lost it for a while. Or maybe he made an adjustment. Of maybe the Yanks' hitters can't read the change, for the 15rh striaght season.
