Grisham...
FB well high, inner half, 1-0
FB waist high inner 3rd, he misses on a huge swing and the helmet falls off his head, 1-1
Completely fooled by a sweeper going low/away, way out front, 1-2
I was thinking, "just throw another one of those"
And he did, but he bounced it, and that allowed Grisham to take, 2-2
Now, THAT was a good take, it was like the 1-1 he chased, 3-2
So now a sinker at the knees should get him.
Slider without much bite, but it's waist high and catches a piece of the corner inside, freezing Grisham for the ꓘ, inning over. 10-20% on Gameday is close enough so that you can't take that, but Grisham did.

Fouls a thigh high sinker down the middle 0-2
Takes a slider just low and outside, 1-2
Chases a slider about 2-3 inches outside, knee high, and K's.

Sinker in the drop the bat happy zone at the knees, inside middle, and he drops the bat on it, lines it to the LF corner for a 1 out double.
Rortvedt will PH for Jackson.

Tonkin comes set, then fakes DeLuca back to 2nd.
Takes a slider on the back door above the waist, 0-2
Fouls off a FB up and in.
Rortvedt has faced Tonkin once and walked.

No chance slider way too low and outside to tempt him into a chase. 2-2
FB yanked well outside waist high, from 0-2 to 3-2.

One thing I've noticed for the Yanks against Diaz, they do seem to get an inordinate number of balls with 2 strike called strike 3 on him, and they just got another one. Slider misses low/away by an inch or so, called strike 3 anyway. Big break for Tonkin and the Yanks, inning over. I take it and run to the ꓘ bank.
Top 7, 5-3 Rays.
Cabrera, then back to the top for Verdugo and Soto. Adam comes in? I'm surprised, with 2 lefties and Cabrera, I thought they'd stay with Cleavinger.

Thanks for the info, pres. FB inside corner thigh high to Verdugo, he tries to jump it, misses late and under, flies out to Siri in medium short left center, 2 down. |
