Gets under a 1st pitch FB to Rutschman, misses outside near the top by plenty. 1-0 Change tails to the corner away waist high, Rutschman chops it over the mound, Volpe charges, scoops it and throws him out, 2 down.

Soto's 23rd HR: 112.6 mph, 420 feet, 20° launch angle, a HR in 28 of 30 MLB parks. Judge's 34th HR: 112.9 mph, 431 feet, 37° launch angle, a HR in 38 of 30 MLB parks. "only" 431 for Judge?

Quick inning from Gil. He needed an inning like that and is at 83 pitches through 5.

Judge chases a curve low/away on the 1st pitch, 0-1 Takes a slider well low and outside, 1-1 A closer slider is still out of the zone, Judge takes, 2-2 Change just inside below the waist, fouled, 2-2 Takes his timeout. Leaves another change hanging near middle, and Judge hits a towering blast off the batter's eye, left of center, back to back HRs with Soto make it a 6-1 Yankees lead!!!

Santander takes a 1st pitch slider outside middle 0-1 Takes a change outside, 1-1 Takes a slider backing up and away, 1-2 Slider into the top of the zone outside middle, misses late and under, flies to Verdugo in left, inning over.
1-2-3 for Gil against the top of the O's order on just 12 pitches, and 83 through 5. He might get through one more after all.
Top 6, 6-1 Yanks. 7-8-9 for the Yanks: Volpe, Grisham and LeMahieu.

Gil tiring. Missing a lot on the arm side. Yet… 1-2-3… Yeah, also leaving sliders up in the zone now.

I'm surprised Judge has gotten anything to hit Yeah, me too. To be fair, I doubt that Rodriguez meant to hang the change down the middle to Judge with 2 strikes. Torres takes a slider on the inner 3rd for a strike, waist high FB in almost the same spot is rifled down 1st into the corner for a 2 out double. Gleyber has such a pretty swing when he goes to RF. If he would only do it more often.

Jacob Webb in to relieve Rodriguez.
Volpe takes a sweeper outside near the knees, 1-0 Takes a meatball FB just below middle, 1-1 Fouls off a slider at the top of the zone, 1-2 Gets a break, Webb gives him a 1-2 FB above middle, but he fouls it off. Change tails to the high inside corner, fouled out of play back of home. Change down and in, pulled down the left side, but way foul. FB in the middle at the top, fouled back and to the right. Chases a sweeper going well low and away, barely gets a piece to stay alive. Change above the top, Volpe waits a bit too long, tries to inside-out it, and fouls it off. FB up and in ties him up a bit, so his fliner to center has no legs, and Cowser catches. 1 down.
Armando Benitez is the Name That Yankee, I think.
