I can’t remember ever landing short of IB like that, with just a scraping toe…

Cutter in the zone up and in, fouled off by Volpe, 0-1 Sinker runs well inside, taken, 1-1 Pulls out early again, can't check in time on the slider well outside, knee high. 1-2. Opens up early again, swings over a slider going low near middle, K, 2 down. Volpe has been opening up a lot lately... In the beginning of the year, he was hitting to right and keeping his hip in... Not now, which corresponds directly with his poor hitting..

Grisham's swing is reminiscent of slamming a car door. On your fingers… the extended thumb like the interlocking swing with a golf club…

B. Lowe... Takes a curve bounced near the corner inside, 1-0 Takes a curve dropping into the zone up and away, 1-1 Gets under a FB misses way high/away, 2-1 Gets under another one, misses well high, 3-1 hanging cutter in the middle, just below the top of the zone, belted out to right center, lands in the first few rows just to the right of the Yankee bullpen, solo HR makes it 5-1 Yanks.

Ruh-roh.... Nothing FB above middle, Arozarena hammers it down the 3rd base line past DJ's dive to the bag for a double. Man on 2nd, 0 outs for J. Lowe.

J. Lowe gets a FB near middle, fouls it off. Another meatball, that one missed. Swings over a curve going low, inside middle, 0-2 FB at the high outside corner, fouled. FB above and outside middle at 96.5, topped to Torres, he throws out Lowe as Arozarena goes to 3rd with 1 down.

Infield back for Siri. Pulls off a slider at the low outside corner 0-1 Same pitch almost the same spot, he fouls that one off, 0-2 Bounces a curve well outside, Wells makes a nifty backhand pickup to save the WP. 1-2 Cutter into the top of the zone, inner 3rd, swung under it for the K, and infield in/back doesn't matter after the K.

There were some scary moments for us at the hospital. We're prepared for system downtime; complete computer failure is another thing. We couldn't get medications and we couldn't do CT scans. We could do labs, but they literally had to be walked to the lab and the results walked back when they were finished. I hadn’t even heard anything about it. When lives are on the line it’s not fun… So Crowd Strike is (was) a cybersecurity company that apparently contracted with Microsoft to maintain security on Windows systems. Well, at about 0100 this morning, some update they either applied or had applied previously had some type of "glitch". Computers around the world started popping up with the "blue screen of death" and would not come back up. Aircraft takeoff and landing controls were offline worldwide, so all planes were grounded and those in the air were required to remain in the air. Banks, stock markets, railroads and subways, hospitals. All down. To Microsoft's credit, although it's not fully fixed, they were able to do something to make (some) computers work again.

Rortvest takes a 96 FB outside at the top, 1-0 Takes a cutter that may have missed high in the middle, called a strike anyway. Cole got a break, missed by 3-4 inches on Gameday, bad call. Gets another gift from the ump, as the curve misses 3 inches outside, waist high, called strike 2 anyway, Should be 3-0 but it's 1-2. Steps uff, then misses up and in with a 94.7 FB. 2-2 Curve at the very bottom of the zone, outside middle, but Rortvedt gets way under it somehow, pops it toward the Rays' dugout, and DJ has to lean over the railing to catch it, inning over. Well, DJ can still catch a popup, so there's that.
Cole give up a HR and a double, but holds the damage to 1 run. Bottom 6, 5-1 Yanks. 19 pitches for Cole in the 6th, and 103 total, so he's likely done for tonight. Especially with the pen on 4 days' rest.

DJ gets a FB at the top outside middle, misses late and under, fouls it off. Sinker misses outside near the top, 1-1 Sinker above the zone, outside middle, somehow TOPS it past the mound, B. Lowe charges, fields and throws him out, 1 down. He's just not getting closer to finding it, gang.

DJ’s got the ground ball down. Think he should try something else.

Rice... Sinker outside, fouled off Cutter to the top outside corner, taken for a strike, 0-2 Slider in the drop the bat happy zone below middle, pulled, but well foul. FB aimed for the high outside corner misses by a little. 1-2 Same FB tails well outside, 2-2 Cutter near middle, but he tops it foul off himself. Missed a cookie, Ben. Takes a sinker in almost the same spot as the cutter before, completely fooled, bad ꓘ, 2 down.

Back from my walk to watch the game. Unfortunately, with the weather and work the way it is, the only time for my walks is during the games in the evening so I may miss a little bit of games here and there.
Nice to see we have a 5-1 lead!
