So we can complain about the bottom of the order but Soto was up twice with runners on and nothing so far Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk You can't win relying on the same two hitters every game. The other guys need to step up and do something. |

Stroman gave me what I asked for 2 ER in 5+ innings, but allowed 2 solo HRs and the clutch single to Caballero.
And with the clutch hitting woes today, good, but not good enough.

Lowe takes a sinker on the corner inside, waist high.
A slider to the outside corner, below the waist, is fouled off, 0-2
Sinker into the top of the zone, inner half, Lowe fouls it back and to the left
Jams himself on a waist high FB, inner 3rd, grounds it to the right of 2nd, Torres backhands, sets and throws him out, 2 down.

Is there a chance Hal tells Cash that there are just too many holes to plug? Don't do anything major maybe make a couple low level deals so the fans think we are doing somthing.

Takes a FB just above the outer 3rd, 1-1
Takes a sinker tailing well outside, 2-1
Misses a FB waist high, outside corner, 2-2
Quick pitched, but flew open and missed well outside, 3-2
FB in the zone above and outside middle, rolled over to Volpe, he sets near the OF grass, fields and throws him out, inning over.
Bottom 6, 3-0 Rays.
6-7-8 for the Yanks in the 6th: Verdugo, Volpe and Grisham in their 6th.

Our leadoff hitter is batting .213, our cleanup hitter .211. We're into the last 1/3 of July. I see all of the trade rumors swirling around the rotation (which does need help, too), but there's so many holes in this lineup that I'm not sure that gives you much of a bump if you cannot score runs. Six or seven guys in the lineup should not be regular MLB starters right now on a good team.
