George is gone and we need to face it. Hal runs it like a business and not with emotion BUT the Yankees would never have gotten spanked by the Mets every game without repercussions. People like to forget that the Torre Dynasty Yankees only happened because George was suspended long enough for Stick and Buck to rebuild the organization. |

I've read many great books on the building of the dynasty and your point is very true. I'm not a Boone hater. I think Trashman is at fault and should have been gone a few years ago but like I posted before this is inexcusable. You can't be allowed to fail and collapse and look lifeless. Someone needs to pay and usually it's the manager. |

Mets blow out the Yanks again, 12-3, sweeping the Subway Series for the year, 4-0, outscoring the Yanks 37-14.
Yanks lose their 22nd game in the last 32 and fall back to 16 games over.500 for the first time since May 21st when they were 33-17, and blow a chance to gain a game on the O's, the Sox and the Rays, who all lost. Instead, the Jays gain a game on everyone.
Yanks still 1 1/2 back of the O's, 4 1/2 ahead of the Sox, 8 ahead of the Rays and 12 1/2 ahead of the Jays.

The only Yankees news I want to hear is that Boone has been relieved of his duties. Cashman definitely deserves huge blame but he’s not going anywhere right now. You have to do something to try to light a fire.
