For Torres it's a little too little a little too late ... 16 game hot streak but power is gone... Criticism was always that he swung for the fences too much...should cut his swing down to hit for average. Now that he's done that and hitting for average...

He's batting .246? 20 pts below his career average and with the worst slg % of his career

Good stuff...

Cashman's last 2 big moves were trading for Soto and Jazz. Everyone predicted it and know it was going to happen so it's not like he made some blockbuster smart deal. Trashman needs to go to rebuild this franchise correctly. What's the difference if someone predicts a trade or not? So far the trade for Jazz looks like a good trade, even though the Yankees traded a good Catching prospect.
The Soto trade was a blockbuster smart deal.
Question. If fans blame a GM for bad trades, shouldn't that same GM get credit when he makes good trades?

Aug 1 - .298 / .384 / .770 OPS OPS is the all-important stat for you, yet now you'll complain about lack of power.

The Soto deal was a blockbuster deal, not a lopsided one. The Yankees created a huge depth issue in their pitching staff with that deal and we see it now. And as you point out, it is far too early to assess the Chisholm trade. Sure, every GM deserves credit fot deals that improve his team. I am not sure those deals are the ones that support your case for Cashman.

I am not sure those deals are the ones that support your case for Cashman. In my opinion, the Soto deal is a lopsided trade if he re-signs with the Yankees. So far the Jazz trade favors the Yankees. Again, in my opinion, the bottom line, if a GM is going to get blamed for bad trades, it's only fair that same GM gets credit for making good trades.
