Bad luck for Rodon. Vlad hits the line. True, but Vlad hit a 100 mph FB off the plate solidly. Boone was trying to build trust and maybe that's OK with a 5-run lead. It's hard to go against Rodon, he's been angered by several pulls he feels were made too early. But if he does that in the post-season, it's managerial malpractice to trust him until he earns it. Get away with it now in a 5-run game in August, but not in October. Cousins in to face Kirk and Horwitz, at least. Sinker inside corner, he inside outside it the flare lands fair for a two run single to right, 6-3 Yanks. Uh...Joe? How can he be risking a DP grounder with 2nd and 3rd?

When we lived in Saudi Arabia and the temps were routinely around 120 Fahrenheit in summer we typically wore oven mitts to be able to drive in the afternoon. Dry heat it was -- you didn't pee very much -- but still brutal. 112 here today...

Volpe has his power stroke back. Pipps, I heard this song for the first time yesterday, and thought of you and desousa. I know now that it was a hit for Webb Pierce and covered by many others. Not sure how I missed it after all this time. I never heard that version Rizz, but the Webb Pierce original is one of my favorite country songs. He had a beautiful high tenor and sang with great sincerity. Plus he wore the most garish Nudi outfits and had a huge guitar-shaped swimming pool. His similarly over-the-top car is a popular display at the Country Music Hall of Fame which we visited in May.

Hmm. The low class Vladdy makes a gesture toward Rodon suggesting something going up a certain orifice. I don’t like that boy… I'm pretty sure Vlad was gesturing towards his own dugout.

Horwitz... Sinker misses up and away, 1-0 Slider bounced inside, 2-0 Slider above and outside middle. Sinker outside middle, lined hard, but right to Torres for the 2nd out. Whew.

I have a black Nissan Sentra for my rental right now. I got in it to got to town yesterday and it was such a horrible environment until the AC got cranked up. I thought I had a blister when I grabbed the seat belt to hook it up. It’s parked in a speck of shade today. If not for a brace on my wrist for carpal tunnel syndrome I couldn’t have touched the steering wheel until I was already in town, 10 miles from here… Getting the Hummer fixed from the cliff-edge incident? Yep. The first day in the shop was Thursday… She’ll live to see another tree… 🤓

1st pitch slider above the waist, inside corner, lined to Volpe for out #3. Jays not going quietly. Bottom 6, 6-3 Yanks. Grisham, then back to the top for Verdugo and Soto for the Yanks in their half of the 6th.
And before I forget entirely...
Judge's 41st HR: 104.7 mph, 426 feet, 28° launch angle, a HR in all 30 parks. Grisham's 7th HR: 102.6 mph, 399 feet, 26° launch angle, a HR in all 30 parks. Volpe's 11th HR: 100.4 mph, 376 feet, 40° launch angle, a HR in 29 of 30 parks.

Still not a nice gesture. I just want to start something with the fat kid. I’d have to scuffle with him if I was an opponent…So glad we didn’t get him…

Swanson comes into the game for the Jays. He's been a good reliever for several years, but he's been hurt and ineffective this year.
Grisham... Fouls off a FB away, 0-1 Swings under a FB above middle at 95, 0-2 Takes his timeout Splitter misses 3 inches outside, not called a strike. Unusual. Splitter on the corner away, popped to left, Schneider comes in to catch, 1 down.
I didn't know about what happened to Swanson's son. Terrible.

I may have it wrong, but my impression of Vlad is that he's a good teammate -- they sure seem to like him in the Toronto dugout -- but enjoys being a PITA to the opposition.
