Hanifee, who threw the 2nd and 3rd on Friday, in the game for the Tigers. Skubal done, and the Yankees actually have a lead. Wells PH for Trevino. Gets a change near middle, hits a high fly to medium center, easy play for Meadows, 1 down.

Volpe takes a sinker on the corner away, 0-1 Takes a cutter well outside, 1-1 Takes a cutter low/away, 2-1 Sinker to the corner down and in, tapped down 3rd, scooped up by Jung, he throws in time to get Volpe, 2 down.I thought he beat the play on 1st look, and the Yanks will challenge.

Agreed, kay, if they call the challenge right. Call overturned, infield hit for Volpe, seemingly the only type of hit he's been getting recently.

LeMahieu takes a sinker below middle at 95, 0-1 Throw over. Bounces a sinker outside, DJ takes, 1-1 Sinker dives in on his hands, tapped back to Hanifee, but Volpe ran on the pitch, so no play at 2nd, takes his time, flips to Torkelson, 2 down.

Peraza due up...but the Yanks go platoon, as they did with Wells for Trevino. Cabrera is pinch-hitting for Peraza.

Sinker misses inside, Rogers futilely moves the mitt, no sale, 1-0 Sinker tails well outside, 2-0 on Cabrera. Cutter on the outer 3rd, waist high, hit well but down near the end of the bat, fliner to medium deep right of center, Meadows coasts over, catches, inning over.
Bottom 7, 1-0 Yanks. 7-8-9 for the Tigers: Jung, Sweeney and Rogers in their half of the 7th inning. Let's see if Boone does go to Weaver, or waits for Stroman to get into trouble.

They're strict platooning Cabrera/Peraza and Rice/DJ, except in the late innings when the Yanks have a lead, in which case, DJ says in. Not saying it's right, but they're gonna stay with it a while, I think.
