Sweeney takes a FB well outside, ball 1
Takes a change in the zone down and in, 1-1
Takes a knee high FB more or less down the middle, 1-2
Bounces a change, I think. Once again, Gameday calls 88.3 a "FB". 2-2
Backs it up with a low FB to the knees at 97.5 that Sweeney thinks is another change going low, good sequencing gets the ꓘ and the 2nd out.

Takes a thigh high FB on the corner away, 1-1
Swings over a change to the same spot as the last FB, 1-2
FB down the middle at 98, puts a good move on it, hits a sinking liner to center, but it stays up for Judge, inning over.
Top 8, 1-0 Yanks.
Weaver threw 12 pitches in his half, Hanifee 11 in his.
Top of the order for the Yanks in the 8th: Torres, Soto and Judge.

Torres takes a FB just high at the top, called a strike anyway, 0% on Gameday, but missed by an inch maybe.
Sinker on the high inside corner, fouled, 0-2
FB misses just outside at the knees, 0% on Gameday, 1-2
FB misses 3 inches outside, up in the zone, 2-2
FB above the zone right where the 1st pitch was, fouled.
FB at the top of the zone, inner half, swung under for the K, 1 down.

Sinker bounced over home, outside middle, 3-2.

FB zooming just out of the zone up and away, Soto chases for the K, 2 down.

Judge takes a FB waist high, barely on the corner, 1-2% on Gamday.
FB a bit below that one, late and under, fouled off, 0-2.
Cutter outside, Judge reaches for it, fouls it down the right side.
Takes the FB 5-6 inches high, outside middle, 1-2
FB outside 3 inches waist high at 97, fouled down the right side, but well foul. Broke his bat.
FB up and in, Judge is under it for the K.
Vest strikes out the side on 19 pitches, all 3 swinging, including Soto and Judge, and all on FB between 96 and 98.

Bottom 8, 1-0 Yanks, probably Kahnle into the game to face the top of the Tigers' order: Meadows, Greene and Vierling.
Meadows and Greene have never faced Kahnle.
Vierling is 0-1.

Bad change winds up below middle, fouled off again. Kahnle didn't like that one.
FB waist high, outside edge, grounded sharply up the middle, but right to Volpe just to the left of 2nd, fields, throws him out, 1 down.
