Slider bounced way inside, great backhand stab for the scoop, saving a WP> 1-0
Sinker down the middle, hit sharply through the box, Volpe fields behind 2nd near the outfield grass and I thought he had NO SHOT to get two, but he charges for 2nd base, steps on it and firest a strike to complete the 6-6-3 DP and get out of the jam. Excellent play by Volpe, but how slow must Josh Naylor be to get doubled up there?
Slow enough to play for the Yanks, I guess.
Still tied at 3, bottom 10.
Ghost runner is Torres.
Soto-Judge-Grisham will try to end it against Clase, I would think.
Soto is 0-1 vs. Clase.
