They do have somewhat similar builds. Even the shape of their faces. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have JD in centerfield and Cashman’s Guy the fourth outfielder? But, knowing how the Yankees are suddenly penny-pinchers, they’ll have him in the mirror leagues hitting .350 to not start his free agency clock. Am I the only one with this lingering bitterness toward the Yankees’ front office?

You're the biggest franchise in baseball, start acting like it.

You may not be able to read the entire article without a membership, but I scanned it quickly before it locked me out: www.nj.com/yankees/2021/02/why-yankees-believe-top-prospect-austin-wells-could-move-super-quickly-to-bronx.htmlAustin Wells “has some of the best bat speed in the organization.” Great news, especially as a lefty hitting catcher. Also, he’s expected to “move quickly through the minors.” Fantastic, as he’s only 21 years old. I’ve read elsewhere that Wells is determined to stay a catcher. He’s even talked about learning the one knee down approach the Yankees are teaching (not sure I agree with it). If I were watching Sanchez catch and his plummeting offense, I’d see a clear path to the majors at catcher, too.

We've seen this movie before.

Hopefully, this one will be longer, and they’ll rewrite the ending so Lassie can come home...

Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Assigned aggressively to High-A
Dominguez will open the year at High-A Hudson Valley, the Twitter account YankeeSource reports.
This isn't a commonly used source, but nobody has refuted the report. It is big news because Dominguez is 18 years old and has never played in an official pro game, so this is a very aggressive assignment. The Yankees have handed out aggressive assignments to high-profile international signees in the past with varying results, but none had Dominguez's combination of tools and pedigree. If he handles High-A pitching as an 18-year-old, he could ascend to the top of prospect rankings.

Wow! Very unlike the Yankees.

This is the fast track. If he performs well, anything is possible
Cashman (singing):
And I would do anything for Hal I'd run right into hell and back I would do anything for Hal I'll never lie to you and that's a fact But I'll never forget what a prospect you are right now Oh no, no way. And I would do anything for Hal But I won't do that No I won't do that Anything for the Yankees Oh I would do anything for Hal I would do anything for Hal But I won't do that No I won't do that

Aaaaanddd we've jumped the gun.
Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Assignment TBD
Contrary to a previous report, Dominguez will not be opening the year at High-A Hudson Valley, Robert M. Pimpsner of Pinstriped Pros reports.
There were reports swirling Thursday that Dominguez would open at High-A as an 18-year-old, which would have been a very aggressive assignment, even for someone with Dominguez's tools and pedigree. He will likely either open at Low-A or be held back in extended spring training.

This is more like the Yankees. No information.

Report directly to New York. Don’t pass GO, do not collect $200. Please hand this letter to Aaron Boone instructing him to have Clint Frazier shot. Take Frazier’s position on the field.
