I believe Karl hinted of some health issues he was facing....I hope he is all right, and is busy boring his wife with trade package ideas...Karl was not in the least interested in the 1 for 1 trades...…..3 teams and 17 players changing uniform was more to his taste..

He’s sharing a room with Syd Barrett Not that there’s anything wrong with that... you have to admit it's a bit goulish...Syd died in 2006....nothing at all wrong with that says Norman Bates...

Yankees to Welcome The Martian www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/27078114/the-legend-martian-yankees-5-million-16-year-old-international-coupIn the tight-knit world of baseball in the Dominican Republic, the legend of the kid spread quickly. He was a switch-hitter with world-class speed, an arm nobody would challenge and the body of a man. Someone called him El Marciano, and the nickname stuck. The Martian, it meant. Because there was no way he was from this world. The praise for Jasson Dominguez started when he was barely a teenager, and it abounds still. And come this Tuesday, when he is expected to formalize a deal with the New York Yankees that includes a $5 million signing bonus, the 16-year-old center fielder instantaneously will become the most fascinating prospect for the game's most storied team, his debut next year eagerly anticipated by those who haven't seen him as well as by those who have. That latter group includes general managers, international scouting directors and other front-office personnel -- professional skeptics -- who still can't help but lavish Dominguez with the sort of compliments reserved for the top 1 percent of the top 1 percent. Nearly every description begins with a caveat that goes something like: "I know this sounds crazy, but ... " "But," one general manger who has seen him said, "he's like [Mike] Trout. And Trout wasn't close to this good when he was 16." "But," an international scouting director who tried and failed to sign Dominguez said, "it's like Mickey Mantle. He's not 6-foot. He's a switch-hitter. He's got crazy power. He's fast as s---. He loves playing." "But," another general manager said, "he's like -- what's that running back's name? The short, strong one? Maurice Jones-Drew. He's all muscle. But it's not stiff. He's twitchy. Can move in all directions."

Oh to be “The Martian”. His story is like a Dominican version of Bryce Harper growing up. Expectations galore, and the kid able to back them up...
Obviously, he’s going to have an ego at that age. Lots of temptations, things to do, things to not do. It’s a long road to 17 when you’re sixteen, much less adulthood. This will indeed be a prospect to watch. I hope he gets and takes good advice...

I can only imagine how unprepared I would have been at age 16 to continue to focus on what had brought that return, and not get caught up in the vices.... I also hope he gets good advice, and has the character to focus on baseball......

I hear people in their 50’s and 60’s talking about how much they’ve shrunk, so in extrapolation, I am guessing you had to be at least 8’ at maturity, perhaps 3’ at birth...

It's a shame I didn't have more athletic ability to go with that height......sigh..

WE too hope he is OK. WE actually LIKED Karl A LOT.
He thought outside the box and was not only entertaining but made one think, etc.
YES Karl was/is DIFFERENT (like Tequila & I) and there is NOTHING wrong with being different; in fact it is Healthy and Good.
LONG LIVE KARL!!!

This officially puts them over the bonus pool allocated to them so they must have a deal in place to add pool money.

Ay, Dio! I've seen this kid compared to Mike Trout and Bryce Harper. No pressure there, I hope Yankee fans are patient with him.
