FB above and outside middle, Verdugo late and under, pops to short left, Swanson goes back, but Happ calls him off, catches, inning over.

rooting hard for rizzo in what probably will be the end of his yankee career. such a great guy. kay's right, off the field more important as verdugo flied to left ending 2nd.

Gil topped out at 95.2. I hope he'll have more velocity as it moves along.Rizzo gets a nice ovation when he steps in. 1st game at Wrigley since he was traded to the Yanks. FB outside at the top, 1-0 Fb outside about 3-4 inches, thigh high, 2-0 Sinker just above the low inside corner, taken, 2-1 FB outside about 3 inches, waist high, 3-1 Sinker drops to the bottom, outside middle, fouled down. 3-2 Sinker outer 3rd, thigh high, grounded up the middle, Swanson fields on the left side of 2nd, throws him out, 1 down. yes commented that velo seemed down. |

Slider at the top in the middle, just missed, fouled straight back and hard.
No chance slider way outside and low, 3-2
Chases a knee-high slider outside by about 3-4 inches, K's, 1 down.

Fb near the outside corner below the waist, fouled off. Getting closer, hit 96 on that one.
Very sharp two plane slider drops to the low outside corner, Hoerner misses clean, 1-2
Slider bounces outside, taken, 2-2
Slider waist high, outside corner, popped high off 1st, winds takes it, so Rizzo has to make a quick move toward the Cubs dugout, catches, 2 down.

Flies open a bit, 1st changeup today misses about a foot high, near the corner inside, 1-0
FB in the zone up and away, taken 1-1
Bounces the change over home, 2-1
Slider in a bad spot, down the middle, just below the waist, but Swanson tops it foul.
Humps up to 98, Misses about 4-5 inches outside, ball 3.
FB clips the low outside corner at 97, not called, but this hasn't been giving marginal calls high/low. 5-10% on Gameday, very marginal. Swanson walks.

Rays at O's, White Sox at Red Sox, and Jays at Braves all start between 7:05 an 7:20 this evening.

Sinker on the low inside corner is strike 3, not called, 60-70% on Gameday, bad call, but I'll take the leadoff walk for Torres.

Swings over a sinker going low in the middle, can't check in time, 0-2. Side view says marginal swing.
Takes a slider well outside and a bit down, 1-2
Takes a change bounced near the outside corner, 2-2
Sinker inside waist high, gets the hands in, lines a hard single to right. Right at Bellinger, so Torres stops at 2nd with nobody out for Judge.

FB at the top near the corner away, Judge starts at it but checks in time. 1st base ump says no swing.
Change in the zone near the bottom, topped foul near home, 1-1
FB inner 3rd, waist high, Judge misses, fouls it off. 2nd fat FB from Wicks that Judge has fouled off today.
Big curve winds up in the middle, just below the waist, grounded hard down 3rd, goes down the line for a RBI double, Yanks take a 1-0 lead, Soto stops at 3rd!!
