Stroman wheels and throws to...Torres, who wasn't really covering.
Sinker barely on the low outside corner, and he covers it, grounds it up the middle to the left of 2nd, no play for Volpe and Torres who are shifted to pull, RBI single makes it 3-0 O's.

Swings over a slurve going well low, 2-2
Curve down and in, grounded foul off 1st
Cutter well inside, 3-2
Sinker at the bottom edge, outside middle, chopper to Rizzo near 1st, takes it to the bag, inning over.
Bottom 5, 3-0 Royals, and three seems like 13 the way Lugo is pitching so far.
17 pitches for Stroman in the 5th, and 76 through 5.
Stroman has pitched a credible start, but not good enough against "ace gonna ace" as Nick Pollack puts it.
Stanton, Chisholm and Dominguez for the Yanks in the 5th.

Cutter in the zone up and in, beats Stanton, swung under, K, 1 down.

I just turned on the game but noticed Lugo touches his figures by or behind the belt on his right side before almost every pitch ... at leat he did last inn If you can rewind ... go back to the Wells ab He's using PitchCom to call his pitches. |

Change below middle, misses under it, popped to medium deep right of center, easy play for Isbel, inning over.
Top 6, 3-0 Royals.
13 pitch 1-2-3 for Lugo and 77 through 5.
Renfroe, Massey and DeJong for the Royals in the 6th.
This game has one plus; it's moving fast. 5 innings in 80 minutes.

He's using PitchCom to call his pitches. Is that what is ? I never noticed that I think the catcher usually has the device, but Lugo must like calling his own game. |
