In our conversation in the thread about 9/11 we discussed that Domeplease and gottagotomo have been MIA for a while and it got me thinking who are some other missing posters?
Thanks to Kaybli this is the list he compiled a while back. He said he follows PSU on social media so I guess hes not really missing, but any sign of life from these others?

I hope they never return… others are “specialty posters”, like the chick that was obsessed with Phil Hughes, or the guy that always wanted to talk about the crowd size and speculate about what percentage of Yankee fans were in attendance. Sadly, some have died, and some were terrific friends and posters. Some were easily forgotten, one day wonders that tested the waters and left rapidly. For some, they were long timers, but suddenly developed thin skin and ran away. I’ll be among their number one day. We all die…

PSU showed up here a couple of years ago for one day. I think it was during 9/11.
You can add Great Fatness and Acura Man to the list. Two great posters who no longer come around.

Nothing wrong with disagreements...even those that may get a little heated. I mean, gets boring pretty quick if everyone agrees with each other. Then there are those whose primary purpose seems to be starting trouble. "Kay" seems to do a good job at rooting them out without excessive censorship. Yankee Message Boards have been, and will continue to be, my only "social media" participation. No Facebook, Twitter, etc. Started with the original MLB YMB, then YES and now here. Sounds like many who were here prior to those of us who came over after the YES board closed also participated in another board before this was started. What board was that?

Only type of posters that annoy me are the ones who are like WERE GOING TO MISS THE PLAYOFFS. When the Yankees have a 10 game cushion on a playoff spot with less than 20 games to go...(Yes I know the 2007 mets exist, but there wasn't 3 WC then, there wasn't even two).

I know you're an optimistic "glass half full" guy. I'm pretty much the same. I find "THE SKY IS FALLING" stuff kinda funny. Posters who routinely trash players is what raises my BP.

It had a free side and a paid side. It became sports 24/7, and it went to hell.

I always found his genuine but harmless eccentricity entertaining. JWildfogel and Banfoulballs and the briefly returned Grandforks were all knowledgeable posters who I appreciated. Likewise Bangbangplay. El Maestro from Venezuela was a good one. There were Red Sox fans who made solid contributions like TrotNixonForPresident and Sox In SD. Also a rather disturbed Sox fan named Zen. He was a strange dude. There was a woman who worshipped Sidney Ponson. Also another woman named Barb on the South Shore of Massachusetts whose handle I can't recall. A guy named Miguel who alternately posted from Uruguay and Israel. Another called The Fat Kid. Hard to believe that MrG's last post was 12/31/12. I miss his mix of irascibility and cock-eyed optimism terribly. Not that he's been away anywhere near that long, but I haven't noticed 1955 on here lately. One of many first-rate imports from the YES board who I enjoy reading.

That brings back some memories, Pipps. You are correct about Bluecountry and crowds - quite harmless - and I hold a fascination with people whose orbits deviate from regular circularity. I had forgotten about The Fat Kid, and TrotNixonForPresident and I were on the old Boston.com Red Sox forum - now extinct - which was replete with quite knowledgeable posters and good baseball fans. Sometimes Trot would bring up things I wrote on Boston.com on PSP. As an obvious Yankee fan with the name of Rizzuto, I was treated pretty well for a social media site of Red Sox faithful. Mr. G was one of a kind, and the first to parry against the crowd of "doom and gloomers." Yeah, 1955 has been a fine addition to our group of merry men. I hope he's okay and just taking a respite. There were times on the old site that I would disappear for months due to work, and other competing priorities. It was one of the reasons I stayed on the free side, where I picked up bits and pieces from some of the paid side posters. Patrick definitely preferred the monthly paying crew to the rest of us hoi polloi, hanging around for free peanuts and pretzels.

I think it was Bluecountry who was obsessed with crowd... Wrong color...and politics are not allowed here!!! I know you're joshing, but Bluecountry was as apolitical as you could get. For every game he wanted to know what we thought was the percentage of Yankee fans in attendance, or the percentage rooting for the opposition. It's almost like he was keeping a spreadsheet. Some of the less good-natured posters would get irritated with him and bust his chops, but he was completely oblivious and would be back the next night with the same questions. He was so dedicated and single-minded in this oddball pursuit that to me it was endearing. Like some guy tiptoeing through your backyard with a butterfly net trying to nab a rare species.
