Mr. G was one of a kind, and the first to parry against the crowd of "doom and gloomers." Yeah, 1955 has been a fine addition to our group of merry men. I hope he's okay and just taking a respite. There were times on the old site that I would disappear for months due to work, and other competing priorities. It was one of the reasons I stayed on the free side, where I picked up bits and pieces from some of the paid side posters. Patrick definitely preferred the monthly paying crew to the rest of us hoi polloi, hanging around for free peanuts and pretzels. I don't think Patrick ever realized that the free site brought in new posters some of whom turned into paid subscribers. They should have paid more attention to it.

Wrong color...and politics are not allowed here!!! I know you're joshing, but Bluecountry was as apolitical as you could get. For every game he wanted to know what we thought was the percentage of Yankee fans in attendance, or the percentage rooting for the opposition. It's almost like he was keeping a spreadsheet. Some of the less good-natured posters would get irritated with him and bust his chops, but he was completely oblivious and would be back the next night with the same questions. He was so dedicated and single-minded in this oddball pursuit that to me it was endearing. Like some guy tiptoeing through your backyard with a butterfly net trying to nab a rare species. This was before the chicken bucket craze too or he would be keeping that data as well I'm sure.

This community has existed on various forums for a long time. 24 years for me. Sadly I can not remember most of the old time posters (in the past there never were more than a handful at one time). JoeSeadog was one, there was a poster of Japanese descent who used to comment on swords. Mr G who I never agreed with jwildfogel Are Pipps and Sierchio here any more

In our conversation in the thread about 9/11 we discussed that Domeplease and gottagotomo have been MIA for a while and it got me thinking who are some other missing posters? Thanks to Kaybli this is the list he compiled a while back. He said he follows PSU on social media so I guess hes not really missing, but any sign of life from these others? JoeBee PSUinNYC312 Tmarino Tazmania05 Betsypaige Nick2slick Miggator Danman1202 Hidekifan55 Yanks4life2005 Nyylife2 Nyyk9005 Dosyanquis Tedbrogen CToon Bjoec8 Zig74 Sebboh NyrnygnyY EnglishYankee I think it was Bluecountry who was obsessed with crowd percentages. I always found his genuine but harmless eccentricity entertaining. JWildfogel and Banfoulballs and the briefly returned Grandforks were all knowledgeable posters who I appreciated. Likewise Bangbangplay. El Maestro from Venezuela was a good one. There were Red Sox fans who made solid contributions like TrotNixonForPresident and Sox In SD. Also a rather disturbed Sox fan named Zen. He was a strange dude. There was a woman who worshipped Sidney Ponson. Also another woman named Barb on the South Shore of Massachusetts whose handle I can't recall. A guy named Miguel who alternately posted from Uruguay and Israel. Another called The Fat Kid. Hard to believe that MrG's last post was 12/31/12. I miss his mix of irascibility and cock-eyed optimism terribly. Not that he's been away anywhere near that long, but I haven't noticed 1955 on here lately. One of many first-rate imports from the YES board who I enjoy reading. Pipps, thanks for thinking about me. Happy to report I'm still above ground. Lost a good friend and have been helping his wife and kids deal with the trauma and make some arrangements. Then my wife went in for oral surgery and there were some complications. Hoping to get results from a biopsy this week. Haven't seen many games recently but it appears the Boys are hanging in there. Still can't get a feel for this Team, they don't feel like a Championship Team to me but then there really doesn't seem to be a great team in either league this year. Can't offer much Yankee insight but I did read a blurb the other day that stated if Wells wins rookie of the year we will be reveiving a supplemental first round draft pick. That would be sweet.

Good to see you’re still around, buddy. You’ve been going through your own hell on earth of late it seems. My best to your wife and condolences for that loss of a friend. As they always say, it’ll get better…

I'm glad you're still out there 55. Add me to the list of well-wishers as you deal with these issues, which I think we can all relate to. You quickly established yourself as one of the real Good Guy posters here and we hope you're back at full throttle soon. Take care friend.

Mike Domingue has texted me back. He sleeps a LOT now, says still some good days mixed in with bad.
Here is what he had to say:
Yes I am still with us. Sorry I have not been in touch but been sleeping most nights and days. Having more bad days than good days. When I feeling better will call message you. How is ruthie doing hoping we'll and how are you doing. Stay safe and healthy. Mike...

Former poster Jay Sierchio is having tests run to see if he will need heart surgery for a condition he’s suffered from for several years. He should know more on Wednesday…
