Heads up baserunning by Rizzo! I'm getting a hankering for Ruffles and French Onion dip. Chips and onion dip is my favorite late night snack when I feel like eating something salty. |

Who did they get at the deadline/what did the gm do ? I haven't followed them closely enough. Picked up Paul Blackburn to bolster their rotation, picked up Phil Maton and Ryne Stanek to bolster their bullpen, and Jesse Winker to improve their outfield/DH situation. Blackburn and Stanek stats with the Mets aren't anything to brag about. Maton and Winker are playing well. |

Damn Apple. I missed a storybook finish yesterday… I never even knew the score until just after I turned out the light last night. Was outside painting during most of the game… No Apple, and I wasn't eating an apple either. I was listening to the game while eating Ben & Jerry's chunky monkey ice cream. |

I gotta say the pitching has been head and shoulders above where I thought it was heading. yeah the pitching has rounded back into shape. that was a strength during our early season run and perhaps they're peaking at the right time and key for any PS success.
for the most part the starters have been going 5+ and allowing just a couple runs. it's a good problem when we have 6 quality starters and they're forced to move one to the pen. not sure how stroman will do down there but nestor has made the case to stay in the rotation. the pen itself is reasonably solid. weaver looks like he could be the closer and there are a number of good arms other than leiter and mayza but they're just for eating innings in losing situations. Cortes and Gil have already logged a combined 200 more innings in '24 than they did last year. That is the best story of the season for me other than Judge. |
