Hits the bottom of the zone outside middle with a FB, doesn't get the call, 5-10% on Gameday, so...marginal, 3-0.

Looks in, then steps off.

Curve inside middle, inside outs a hard grounder down the line, hits first base and goes right to Rizzo, takes it to the bag, 1 down. BIG break for Schmidt there.

Takes a curve just low near middle, gets another close call, 0% on Gameday by an inch or two low, 0-2
Curve just outside at the knees, rolled over to Torres, fields, throws him out, 2 down.

Cutter down and in, Casas gets a decent piece of it, but gets under it to left center, Judge moves back and right, catches, inning over.
Nice 1-2-3 for Schmidt in the 2nd, aided by the very lucky bounces off 1st to Rizzo, or it would've been a leadoff double.
Bottom 2, 0-0
8 pitches in the 2nd, and 27 through 2 for Schmidt.
Rizzo, Volpe and Verdugo for the Yanks in the 2nd.

I hope this isn't a platoon with Dominguez and Verdugo. While I understand that Verdugo isn't great against left-handers, he's not sparkling against righties either. Also, Dominguez is much better from the left side than the right, mashing right-handers.

Slider hangs above middle, Volpe fouls it off.
Flies open a bit, FB way high, 1-2
FB 4-5 inches high in the middle, chases ball 2, fouling it.
Slider just outside, thigh high, Volpe fouls that off as well.
Arggg.
Bad slider down the middle, hits a soft fliner to Abreu in right, he throws behind Rizzo for the DP but Rizzo gets back, 1 down.
