Giants up 4-0 over the Orioles in the fifth. They have at least as many issues as the Yankees. They've been a huge disappointment this year. Seemed like most prognosticators had them winning the division with ease going into the season, but like us, they've regressed after a fast start. Looking at their roster, there are definitely issues, but I would think they would be performing much better than the Yanks. They just can't get it together even after some what seemed like good moves at the deadline.

They'll be lucky to finish within ten games of what they did in 2023. Still a lot of talent there and they could yet get hot in the post-season. But I've been watching them quite a bit lately and they are having problems with timely hitting and they've had a lot of pitching injuries (who hasn't?)

Gloria and I had planned on being in the Seattle are this week to visit friends who moved there, but we decided not to go. I hate traveling these days.

Actually, not a fan myself. I prefer east coast day games which start at 10:00 am for me, and night games starting at 4:00 pm. Nothing like watching East Coast games when you're living on the West Coast. I loved brunch baseball. The only game I'll see in this series is the one on Thursday afternoon at a convenient 4:05. I'll stay awake thru tonight & tomorrow night's games...even if they go past my bedtime. But I'll have to catch a recording of Jeopardy tomorrow.

Told my wife I'm done. Glad I caught the Yanks in Seattle a few years ago...combined with visits to Mt. St. Helen, Mt. Rainier & Olympic NPs.

I'm assuming you were going to fly, which is always miserable. I'm still such a travel fanatic that I keep my eyes on the prize and put up with the crap. But I understand why most people don't want to do that. In a week I have a charming 1045 PM flight to Edinburgh, transfer through Heathrow (one of the world's worst airports) and hit the ground running around 1 PM the next day. Bring it on!

OK, so the O's lost, 10-0, and the Yanks lead is up to 3 1/2 games, and the magic number for the divisional title decreases to 9.

Rays crushed the Red Sox 8-3. That eliminates the Sox from winning the division. Tigers and Royals are 1-1, bottom 7 in KC. Twins beat the Guardians, 4-1. Sox tragic number is 7, 6 for the Rays.
