Have trouble getting excited about something that's been a foregone conclusion for quite some time. I agree, other sports don't have these wild, over the top celebrations for just making the playoffs like baseball does. I wonder if the Yankees have to pay the compensate the Mariners for trashing their visitors locker room? Kinda contrived with the plastic sheeting taped up all around the room. I suppose someone would've had to quickly tear it down if Rodriguez hadn't had a brain cramp.

Using him in high leverage situations like last night when there are other options is foolish. There's less than two weeks to go in the season, so there's no time to get him right, bury at the back of the pen and go with others. Your assertion that there's "no time" is frankly incorrect. There's a reason Boone is using him in high leverage situations, even if they aren't save situations. They want to get him right and they're going to keep running him out there, especially now with a 5 game pad in the AL East. If he can put together 4 or 5 good outings in the last couple of weeks, he gets back in the circle of trust. Cashman and Boone's never ending faith in Holmes has almost destroyed their season, they're very lucky that Baltimore has folded or they would be looking at a wild card spot right now, mostly because they're too clueless with their personal to use the right players in the right spot. 4 or 5 good outings, when is the last time Holmes had 2 good outings in a row?

Have trouble getting excited about something that's been a foregone conclusion for quite some time. More relieved than excited… Yanks have never been out of the playoff picture this year....1st Place 111 of the 152 games played, if not usually 1/2 GB, at most 3 GB very briefly, but always at least #1 WC.

I hereby predict that once the post season starts all we will need to do is win each series to win the World Series. (This stuff is so simple to figure out, people)…

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk managers and fans have a totally different perspectives on players. managers & coaches have played the game. having been through it themselves, they understand the ups & downs that players go through in a season or even seasons. they have patience and trust in players who they've seen perform. do they hold on too long. in many cases yes. players also have the same trust in their teammates. guarantee judge trusts all his teammates. fans on the other hand, have zero patience. player has a few or even more than a few bad games. he sux. don't use him or get rid of him.
even last nite, when rizzo grounded into a DP in the 7th. some folks "called" it. guess who gets a big hit in the 10th. yup ...
remember on the yes forum in 2017 regarding judge. had a big slump after the AS game (hit .179 w 7 HRs over 44 games). posters were suggesting all sorts of things including the HR derby (which i don't disagree with), MRIs, dropping him in the lineup, benching him, sending him to scranton. as it turns out, even though he did have shoulder surgery after the season, had a spectacular september hitting .311 w 15 HRs, 32 RBI and 1.3 OPS.

I'm fine with being patient with most players but the dj thing went on for like 2 months and he didn't look good last season either Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Excellent post, Bump! All an athlete needs is an opportunity, one sliver of light to break through and the adrenaline builds. Teammates are like soldiers in a Fox hole, they MUST believe and support each other to become a collective greater than the sum of their parts. Gloom and doom and constant negativity becomes more detrimental than the stressful and dire situation, which can lead to “accidental” friendly fire. There are some posters I would not want in a Fox hole. That’s one reason why some very talented players get traded team to team to team.
