I don't see any chance that Verdugo is back next year so if the Yankees give him the rest of the season off it wouldn't bother me. JD has to start and get the majority of pt in LF. He may not be tearing it up but he can at least run into one and with more pt he may find the groove that Verdugo has been looking for the last several months. Offensively, Wells looks like a player who has hit the wall. He's had a lot of pt since Trevino was hurt and he may be a little worn down. I hope he gets some days off before the playoffs. He still adds value behind the plate but he needs to be moved down in the lineup. We need to readjust at cleanup again. Maybe Jazz would get motivated and heat up there… at least vs. RHP…

Well Yankees just learned what happens when you're not playing the A's. 54-37 against >.500 38-28 against <.500 In that case, they should breeze through the playoffs and WS...NOT...since, as we all know, once the post season begins, we can throw away all regular season stats.

Your statement about the A's still doesn't make sense either way Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No one knows for sure if Judge or Wells would have got a hit if Torres didn't get tagged out. Bad play by Torres, but Schmidt didn't have a good start either.
3ER, 5.1 innings pitched, = 5.29 game ERA.
