Same cutter, again late and under, pops it foul near the 3rd base dugout, but it gets out of play, doggone it, 1-2
Trevino goes to talk to Schmidt.
Cutter inside, pulled very hard but very foul well off 1st.
Slow curve down and in, gets a chase and swing over by Ramirez for the K.
Big out there, but he still has to deal with Naylor.

Bounces a curve inside, but Trevino backhands, 1-0
Cutter near the high inside corner ties him up, and Berti fields the hard grounder, playing the short hop, racing to the bag to get the out, he wheels and looks at 2nd but has no play, also had no chance for two, didn't risk a throw into the runner on the force. 2nd and 3rd, two down for Thomas.

Excellent job pitching out of trouble by Schmidt there.
Both teams fail with RISP, but it was the Guardians, for a change, who had three of them.
Top 2, 0-0
Just 15 pitches in the 1st for Schmidt, thanks to the 1-pitch outs by Naylor and Thomas.
Berti, Volpe and Verdugo for the Yanks in the 2nd.

FB inner 3rd, swung on and missed, 0-2
Slider down and in, swung over for the K, 1 down.

Takes another at the same height but 3-4 inches closer to the zone, 2-0
Takes a change waist high, outside middle, 2-1
Change just below and outside the last, fouled off, 2-2
Curve bounced near middle, lays off it, 3-2
Takes his timeout.
Look down and in, don't chase. He might go up the ladder too, I suppose.
