Not sure I entirely agree. Wells does swing at some high pitches but he is missing pitches in the zone that he was hitting hard earlier in the year. His bat looks like it has slowed down to this untrained eye. Fatigue? Some old school hitters used to go to a lighter bat late in the season. Not sure Wells is used to playing as much and as long as he has this season. One thing I will say is that the slump hasn't hurt his defense. He is really good at scooping or blocking balls in the dirt. Yes, we should be grateful for Wells' defense, which this series has particularly shown us how good he is, especially when compared to all the pitches Cleveland's catchers have NOT been able to block.
