I like it. With all the goofy Steinbrenner rules about what players should or shouldn’t look like it is nice to have a kid that hasn’t been forced to look like he’s been sent to military school. And more importantly, he pitched well. I don't mind that the Yankees choose to distinguish themselves from every other major league team. What's the appeal of a bunch of unkempt beards and man-buns? I don’t find an appeal either way. George was forced to go to military school so he decided it was important because those were the values he was brainwashed to believed in. George is gone. It isn’t any more appealing that the Yankees micromanage the grooming of grown men. We don’t care what Chance Adams’ hair looks like, I care if he can get hitters out or not.

I’m still a fan of the Yankee way. You dress to the job. Most of my career I’ve needed to be at least neat. Slacks or jeans and a nice polo have sufficed. I eouln’t Mind if they allowed a neatly trimmed beard. Some of these guys look like they live in the woods with the long beards, and hair... You’re making unbelievable money guys. At least look like you’re human...Let it all grow out in the off-season if you wish. As long as you’re not making appearances representing the team...

That same cutter is still fooling hitters in the 7th as Torres bites on it hard...

That 1st inning on Thursday seems so long ago

Remembering my beloved brother-in-law whom we lost a couple of years ago. He was a submarine commander and did 25 years in the Navy. When he got out, he grew his hair into a pony tail. Just because he could. I still like the Yankee way in his honor and in the honor of all the other veterans that have stayed neatly groomed to defend our nation for pennies in relative pay.
Glenn Fleming, I miss you. You were more brother than in-law to me. I salute you!!!

Even a single run seems to be such an elusive goal right now...

As would only be 5 behind the Yankees if the Yankees don't win this one.

There aren't many work places that don't have grooming and dress codes for grown men and women. I'd love to wear shorts, Hawaiian shirts, and flip-flops everyday, but alas...all in all, a shave and a haircut is a small sacrifice to make millions of dollars, have innumerable, first-class amenities, and be part of an historic franchise.

The Red Sox find even more good fortunate in the game. The review was...the most surprising outcome I’ve ever seen. Yet, somehow...I wasn’t surprised. Getting the third out on the next batter became an unexpected bonus... I was sure Bradley would hit one out...

Glenn Fleming, I miss you. You were more brother than in-law to me. I salute you!!! RIP Glenn. Thank you. He was “something else” as they say. A flawed but wonderful human. Made his mistakes along the way. He and my sister separated for a bit over a year at one point. His battle with alcoholism, and a business failure helped spur that. But I always hoped they’d get back together. They did. He got cancer of the tongue in his last years. Fought it like hell. It gave him a speech impediment, but he still kept on talking the best he could...

Three hits and one walk in five innings and only 83 pitches. Nice job by Chance Adams in his debut against the best team in baseball on the road.

There aren’t many. But Major League Baseball Ian one of them. If it were an accounting firm, or the company I work for, or the military, of course it might be a different story. The Yankees just happened to formerly be owned by a guy who liked to pretend he was coaching the football team at West Point.
