I was wondering what happened to him? He’s alive and well in Florida. I talk to him regularly, since he and I are twins (Ask Dome). He’s so addicted to the porn of MMA (female division mostly) that he just works and watches MMA. I think he’ll be back once we start seeing baseball again... I’ll tell him you asked for him. He’s worked hard on making a better life and is really knocking that out of the park...

This is all Trump's doing. How anyone supports this lunatic is beyond me. It appears a post from a month ago is apropos: “Can you cite another occasion in recent history in which partisans show up armed with guns to influence voting results or plan to kidnap a sitting governor? I’m afraid that started with Trump and his rhetoric. I believe a president’s words and behavior matter and have influence. Of course, many of Trump’s fans are abject apologists and excuse his behavior no matter what.”

BRAVO TO RIZZ & To KAYBLI = For the love of God, just invoke the 25th amendment and get him out of there today before anymore damage is done.
This event has really affected me--believe it or not I am still shaking...
As we witnessed an attempted Insurrection & an act of Sedition incited by/led by our President the COVID Virus hit NEW HIGHS in AMERICA = Daily Infection Rate—Daily death Rate—Total Infected/Dead. And of course, Donald the Idiot has said little to nothing about the Virus in 30-60 days. _____________________________________________________________________________________________ --What Happen on Jan. 6th was a very Dark Day for our Nation & me; but sadly, I was not Shocked nor Surprise since I had posted so many times the following:
A.That, before the end of Donald’s Era it would get really ugly; so ugly that combined we could never imagine how ugly it will get.
B. That Donald is VERY Dangerous, Mentally Challenged, Incompetent,Compulsive Serial Liar, etc.
--"Trump, speaking to the protesters at a rally hours before they burst into the Capitol, referred to his political opponents as “bad people” and “the enemy of the people.” He described his allies as “warriors” and encouraged them to stop “fighting like a boxer with his hands tied behind his back.” He added, “We’re going to have to fight much harder.” Donald Trump
At the same rally, Rudy Giuliani said that Trump’s opponents should go to jail and added, “Let’s have trial by combat.” And Donald Trump Jr., addressing congressional Republicans who planned to split from his father, said: “We’re coming for you, and we’re going to have a good time doing it.” Rudy Giuliani
After the violence, Trump himself wrote on social media, “These are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously and viciously stripped away from great patriots who have been badly & unfairly treated for so long.” Donald Trump------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ My Thoughts, Concerns, Questions, Recommendations in Regards to one of our Darkest Days in America.--What happen yesterday is a accumulation of LIES, Fake News, Conspiracies, etc. support by the GOP, Domestic Hate Terrorist Groups, etc. and to have these Supported and/or Even started by the President, GOP Members, News/Media Outlets and their Anchors, etc. etc. etc. --Donald, Members of his family, Members of his WH Team, Members of the GOP, Fox Media/Other Right-Wing Media, Hannity, Carlson, Some of Donald’s Lawyers, etc. etc. etc. all are RESPONSIBLE for Inciting what took place on Jan 6th. JAY TIMMONS, NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF MANUFACTURERS CEO-- “An utterly shattered Stephen Colbert went “unexpectedly live” on Wednesday night to address the violent pro-Trump mob that attacked the United States Capitol — faulting President Donald Trump, the “cowards” in the GOP that support him, and Fox News for the chaos. The host, who was similarly shaken following Trump’s election lies, told his viewers that he’s “rarely been as upset as I am tonight,” following the blatant attack on Democracy.
“Have you had enough? After five years of coddling this president’s fascist rhetoric, guess whose followers want to burn down the Reichstag?” Colbert snapped at Republican members of Congress who unwaveringly supported Trump throughout his presidency, even as he attempted to overturn an election.
“Today, the U.S. Capitol was overrun for the first time since 1814,” he said. “And a woman died. Who could have seen this coming? Everyone! Even dummies like me.”
The host went on to lament the chaos on the Capitol as “the most shocking, most tragic, least surprising thing” he had ever seen, pointing out that people have been warning against allowing the president to “lie about your democracy over and over” for years.
Colbert later slammed Fox News for pushing conspiracy theories and blindly backing the president, mocking the network for having an “opinion” side and a “news” side.
“Like those lubricated catheters,” he added, referring to ads on the network. “You know where you can stick your excuses. And you can skip the lubrication.”Stephen Colbert --“President Trump, who last year condemned Black Lives Matter demonstrators as “thugs” and signed an executive order endorsing prison sentences for protesters who damage federal property, uploaded a one-minute video to Twitter addressing the violent extremists. “We love you. As supporters of President Donald Trump ransacked the Capitol building on Wednesday, the president was acting detached and ignoring aides' pleas, according to multiple reports.
One official told The Washington Post that Trump was "so driven by this notion that he's been treated unfairly" and that he struggled to understand events.
Axios and Politico reported that some of Trump's close friends and advisors were trying to avoid him and had given up trying to communicate.
Axios paraphrased sources as saying the president was "mentally unreachable."
The official told The Post that Trump was so incensed at Vice President Mike Pence, who presided over the congressional session to confirm Joe Biden as the president-elect, that "he couldn't see straight."
President Donald Trump was detached from reality as his supporters stormed the US Capitol on Wednesday, according to multiple reports citing people close to him.
Trump aides are said to have given up trying to communicate with him during the crisis.
During the attack, which forced Congress to temporarily abandon the certification of Joe Biden's victory in the election, Trump was at the White House defending his supporters and refusing to condemn the violence, The Washington Post reported.
An administration official described the president as "a total monster" who was "so driven by this notion that he's been treated unfairly that he can't see the bigger picture."
The official was referring to Trump's untrue claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him because of widespread voter fraud - allegations that have been repeatedly rejected in court.
Axios paraphrased its sources as saying that Trump's closest friends and White House officials were "avoiding him like the plague" and that some had "given up trying to communicate with him, considering him mentally unreachable."
On Wednesday afternoon, the New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman said that Trump's aides were trying to get him to issue a strong statement against the violence but that he was "ignoring these entreaties."
Haberman also described a Trump advisor as saying that people close to Trump were "certain the president wanted this and is enjoying it."
According to Politico, fewer staffers than normal were around Trump on Wednesday. The report noted that the White House senior advisor Jared Kushner was traveling back from the Middle East that day.
"I don't know who is getting through to him right now," a former senior administration official told Politico.--01-07-21: www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/hear-what-trump-told-crowd-before-riot/vi-BB1cxmDe Hear what Trump told crowd before riot.--01-07-21: edition.cnn.com/2021/01/07/politics/donald-trump-electoral-college-capitol-riot/index.html America faces 13 days of danger before the departure of an unhinged commander-in-chief who set his mob on the US Capitol in an act of insurrection that shattered a more than 220-year tradition of peaceful transfers of power.
President Donald Trump's seditious behavior has provoked a full crisis inside his White House bunker in his final days, following a fracture with his ultra-loyal Vice President Mike Pence, who refused to join the futile but destructive effort to overturn the result of the election.
After orchestrating one of the most notorious days in US political history and trashing democracy by refusing for weeks to accept his defeat, Trump suddenly issued a dead-of-night statement belatedly pledging an orderly transition of power to President-elect Joe Biden on January 20.
But as usual, the move appeared motivated by self-interest rather than a sense of duty as it appeared to be an attempt to stem a wave of West Wing resignations amid talk of a snap impeachment or effort by the Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment to force him from office.
In unspeakable scenes on Wednesday, marauding thugs marched from an incendiary Trump rally to storm the Capitol. Their aim was to stop lawmakers finalizing President-elect Joe Biden's victory ahead of his January 20 inauguration.
But the bedlam, which saw rioters smash windows, lay siege to lawmakers and reach the House and Senate chambers, had the opposite effect, hastening the moment of final repudiation for the President and his baseless claims of a stolen election.--01-07-21: us.yahoo.com/news/donald-trump-triggers-american-carnage-232202011.html Donald Trump triggers the American carnage he vowed to stop in his inaugural address
In a divided America, the events that unfolded on Capitol Hill on Wednesday afternoon should unite us all. In a universal sense of national shame and embarrassment.
Under President Donald Trump, the United States — historically a beacon of freedom and citadel of liberty — has devolved into a shocking exemplar of dysfunction. Democracies around the world, those established and those fledgling, could only look on in horror at the televised images of a pro-Trump mob storming the august American center of government, crowding its balustrades, smashing windows, flooding into its statuary hall.
Congratulations, Mr. Trump. Our Shining City on the Hill is now a tarnished emblem of national disgrace. The American carnage you promised to eradicate at the beginning of your term has turned to reality at the end of it. Blood spilled
The scenes looked like something out of a bad action movie: Rioters descending on the Capitol. Armed but outnumbered security forces barricading themselves with weapons drawn, firing teargas and hustling members of Congress and Vice President Mike Pence to safety.
A woman shot at the Capitol, later pronounced dead. And, in an iconic image of pure insurrection, a smug protester sitting in the president’s chair in the evacuated Senate Chamber.
How could the Capitol have been left so vulnerable even as protesters gathered in large numbers downtown? There will be time to investigate and understand how authorities were so unprepared for this rush of rioters and so slow to regain control of the Capitol.
But there’s little question about what triggered it.
Just before Congress gathered in a joint session for the ministerial task of counting the electoral votes showing that Joe Biden was elected the next president of the United States, Trump spouted his rancid conspiracy theories about a stolen election at a rally on the White House Ellipse.
He closed his remarks by egging his followers to march down Pennsylvania Avenue to the Capitol and make their grievances known. “We’re just going to try and give (Republicans in Congress) the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country,” Trump exhorted them.
And they followed his every word. From the safety of the White House
The congressional tallying of electoral votes proscribed under the Constitution had to be suspended. And like an arsonist enjoying his handiwork, Trump watched the chaos unfold from the safety of the White House. Finally, he urged his fervent followers to stay peaceful and go home.
Too little. Far too late.
What to do about this man who has brought such ignominy upon our country? Censure by Congress? Certainly. Criminal exposure for inciting violence and pressuring Georgia’s secretary of state to flip that state’s election results? Perhaps.
But can any punishment truly fit the crime? Four years of Trump’s divisive leadership have produced impeachable conduct, failed management of a pandemic that has killed 360,000 Americans, and the undermining of democracy with self-serving and contrived claims of voter fraud.
And now — as a capstone — he fomented mob violence that had all the earmarks of an insurrection. Sycophantic Republican enablers
All the way, he was abetted by sycophantic Republican enablers in Congress, who should immediately drop their disgraceful effort to decertify the Electoral College votes of battleground states won by Democrat Joe Biden.
Trump’s onetime fixer Michael Cohen testified in 2019 that Trump wouldn’t cede power peacefully if he lost the election. Cohen, who knew Trump as well as anyone, was prescient.
One way or another, however, Trump will soon be gone from the White House. It will be left to Biden and the people of the United States to convince the world that Wednesday’s disgraceful images don’t represent the essence of America.--01-07-21 YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE STUPID: us.yahoo.com/news/troops-retake-us-capitol-trump-supporters-023649305.html …“It can’t stop. This can’t stop,” a man who identified himself only as Tim, and one of the final remaining protesters, said as the group was dispersed Wednesday evening. “This has got to go on for the four years of this clown being in the Oval Office,” Tim said, referring to President-elect Biden. “He ain’t representing me. He’s not my president.” Tim, who said he traveled to Washington, D.C., from Maryland to take part in the protests against Biden’s victory, did not believe the election results were legitimate. “I don’t think anybody voted for Biden,” Tim said. “I think the whole thing was rigged.” Tim’s friend, Stu, chimed in to describe what he saw as evidence the vote was illegitimate. “They got proof that the machines — they were stacking all the machines with the ballots,” Stu said. There is no evidence of widespread fraud in the 2020 presidential election, and the results have been examined by outside experts and Republican state officials. And after the Capitol was cleared, those results were expected to be certified by the Republican-controlled Senate with Trump’s own running mate, Vice President Mike Pence, presiding. The violence at the Capitol Wednesday was the culmination of a large “Stop The Steal” protest in Washington that included speeches by Trump and Rudy Giuliani, one of the president’s staunchest allies. “We will never give up. We will never concede. It doesn’t happen. You don’t concede when there’s theft involved,” Trump said. “Our country has had enough. We’re not going to take it anymore.” --01-07-21: edition.cnn.com/2021/01/07/us/insurrection-capitol-extremist-groups-invs/index.html Insurrection fueled by conspiracy groups, extremists and fringe movements(CNN)The mob of Trump supporters who stormed the US Capitol on Wednesday included conspiracy theorists linked to QAnon and the Proud Boys -- two right-wing extremist factions that President Donald Trump repeatedly refused to condemn during his election campaign last year. The insurrection at the heart of America's democracy, egged on by Trump's rhetoric, represented a stunning show of force for the fringe movements and their adherents. Four people were left dead during the mayhem, according to the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department, including one woman shot by a U.S. Capitol Police officer and three other people who had medical emergencies. One of the most recognizable figures in the videos and photos of the chaos on Capitol Hill was a man in his 30s with a painted face, fur hat and a helmet with horns. The protester, Jake Angeli -- known by followers as the QAnon Shaman -- quickly became a symbol of the bizarre and frightening spectacle as photos circulated of him roaming the Capitol halls holding an American flag affixed to a spear in one hand and a bullhorn in the other, and even standing shirtless atop the Senate dais. Angeli, who lives in Arizona, couldn't be reached for comment, but his cousin, Adam Angeli, confirmed that the man in the horns was his relative in a brief call with CNN Wednesday. Adam Angeli said he thought his cousin might be between jobs and that "he's a patriot, he's a very big United States of America type of a person." Jake Angeli's Facebook page is filled with posts evoking the conspiracy theories of QAnon, whose adherents believe in a ludicrous theory that there is a cabal of Satan-worshipping pedophiles who have infiltrated the highest reaches of American government and are being opposed by President Trump. Some of Angeli's Facebook posts have a violent edge, such as a meme declaring "we shall have no real hope to survive the enemies arranged against us until we hang the traitors lurking among us." One photo on Angeli's Facebook page depicts him adorned in the fur and horns, taking aim towards the camera with a rifle. In recent months, Angeli has been a regular presence at pro-Trump protests in Arizona, including demonstrations outside the Maricopa County vote-counting center. Other rioters photographed at the Capitol wore clothing with QAnon icons and held signs with slogans associated with the bizarre movement. --01-07-21 BRAVO—SADLY I DOUBT IT WILL HAPPEN: www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/top-senate-democrat-calls-for-trump-to-be-removed-from-office-immediately/ar-BB1cyHeU?li=BBnb7Kz Top Senate Democrat calls for Trump to be removed from office immediately WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer on Thursday called on Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution to immediately remove Trump from office, saying that if he does not act, Congress should impeach the president. --01-07-21: www.msn.com/en-us/tv/news/itv-news-journalist-goes-viral-wins-praise-after-extraordinary-report-following-trump-mob-into-capitol/ar-BB1cy5bB?li=BBnbfcL Robert Moore, the Washington correspondent for Britain’s ITV News, has gone viral and won widespread praise from peers for an extraordinary report following Donald Trump’s supporters as they forced their way into the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday. Moore was in the thick of the carnage on a historic day in the U.S. capital, surfing the mob wave as it battered down the doors and windows of the Capitol building, and calmly reporting on the events as they unfolded around him. More from Deadline “For four years we have witnessed turmoil in America, but nothing quite like this,” Moore said, as he opened a seven-minute report, in which he captured tear gas canisters being detonated and was jostled by protestors inside the Capitol building. He also filmed protesters wielding shards of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s nameplate after it had been ripped from the wall.
“This is exactly what was feared, but in no way is this a surprise. It has been fueled by the president’s rhetoric, and it’s increasingly clear, this nation has not healed the wounds, it has simply amplified them,” Moore added.

"That would benefit both sides. That would improve legitimacy of this election, and so let me urge my colleagues don't take, perhaps, the easy path," he said. The responsible thing, the mechanism the Founding Fathers included in the Constitution, is to impeach him.
Wait — a memory tickles. Impeachment … didn’t that happen just a year ago, after Trump pressured Ukrainian officials to dig up dirt on Joe Biden to derail his presidential campaign?
Didn’t House Democrats impeach him? Wasn’t Trump then put on trial in the U.S. Senate, where every single Republican save one — Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah — voted to overlook his egregious abuse of power and contempt of Congress and let him remain in office?
And now a year later his contempt has metastasized into a full-blown physical assault by his supporters in Congress, forcing Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and the rest of Trump's protectors to flee in fear just after they'd started debating whether to give credence to the very lies about election fraud that fueled their attackers.
And now we have five people dead: one shot by a Capitol Police officer as she climbed through a broken interior door window as the mob sought to break deeper into the Capitol; three who died from unspecified medical issues; and now a Capitol Police officer who was injured in this act of domestic political terrorism fomented by the president of the United States.
Five people who would still be alive today if Senate Republicans had lived up to their responsibilities a year ago and removed Trump from power.
Do we honestly think they’d do the right thing now should House Speaker Nancy Pelosi move to impeach Trump again, as she has threatened?
That’s like expecting a guard dog to not bark.
If McConnell had even a shred of a sense of political responsibility he would announce today with Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer that he supports impeachment and would hold a trial within hours of the House impeaching Trump for a second time. And that he himself would vote to remove Trump from office.

WASHINGTON, Jan 7 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump has increasingly isolated himself in the White House, relying on a small group of diehard loyalists and lashing out at those who dare to cross him, including Vice President Mike Pence, said four sources familiar with the matter.
Some longtime advisers are steering clear of talking to Trump after he fired up hundreds of supporters who swarmed the U.S. Capitol in what even fellow Republicans called an insurrection and a deep stain on Trump's legacy.
The unprecedented breach of the Capitol building forced Pence and members of Congress to be evacuated just as they had convened to certify the 2020 election victory of President-elect Joe Biden over Trump. Four people died in the mayhem, including a woman shot by police.
"Don't want to," said one adviser, speaking on the condition of anonymity, when asked if there had been any recent contact with the president.
Trump was extremely agitated on Wednesday, moving from the Oval Office to the nearby private dining room, initially energized, but increasingly angry and closed off, said one source.
Trump was not allowing staff to help craft any messages earlier in the day. "It's not a controlled situation," said the source, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Trump has surrounded himself with an ever-smaller group of loyalists who cater to his whims, including digital director Dan Scavino, personal aide John McEntee, trade adviser Peter Navarro, speechwriter Stephen Miller, and personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, one source said.
"It's sad. These are the people around him and egging him on," the source said, who also asked not to be identified. ONE CANNOT CHANGE THE STUPID:--01-07-21: www.nbcnews.com/tech/internet/trump-loyalists-push-evidence-free-claims-antifa-activists-fueled-mob-n1253176 Trump loyalists push evidence-free claims that antifa activists fueled mob.
The claims are typical of many that arise during major news events and particularly violent acts; fringe communities often label them "false flag" attacks.
Radical conservative activists and allies of President Donald Trump quickly began to spread disinformation about the Capitol riots Wednesday, claiming with no evidence that pro-Trump protesters photographed breaking into congressional chambers were anti-fascist activists.
L. Lin Wood, a lawyer behind multiple failed lawsuits seeking to overturn the election results who has also pushed QAnon-related conspiracy theories, tweeted photos of the break-in alongside photos of a pair of notorious American neo-Nazis, claiming that the photos offered "indisputable photographic evidence that antifa violently broke into Congress today."
The claims are typical of many that arise during major news events and particularly violent acts; fringe communities often label them "false flag" attacks meant to push a liberal political agenda. Other events that have been called false-flag attacks include the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, in 2012.
Almost immediately after reports emerged that a pro-Trump mob, urged on by a speech from the president Wednesday, had broken into the Capitol, efforts to flip the blame began. Televangelist Mark Burns, a longtime Trump supporter, tweeted, "This is NOT a Trump supporter...
This is a staged #Antifa attack," along with a photo from the break-in of a popular QAnon follower, Jake Angeli, who is known as the "Q Shaman" for attending protests wearing face paint and an elaborate horned fur costume. A judge last month granted a deferred judgment for Michael Ray Stepanek, 45, who told police he drove his Toyota Camry through the crowd in August because the protesters needed “an attitude adjustment.” The sentence means a felony charge of willful injury resulting in bodily injury against Stepanek will be dismissed and expunged, as long as he does not commit a crime during a three-year term of probation. Judge Paul Miller also suspended a $1,025 civil fine. Offenders who commit “forcible felonies” are not eligible for deferred judgments, but the charge to which Stepanek pleaded is not considered one under Iowa law. He was also eligible for the break because he did not have a criminal history. Stepanek's attorney John Bruzek said his client was influenced by social media and political rhetoric characterizing the protesters as dangerous criminals. Stepanek initially believed he was legally justified but has come to see he was wrong and apologized, Bruzek said. --01-07-21 edition.cnn.com/videos/politics/2021/01/07/trump-capitol-riots-proud-vf-orig.cnn These Trump supporters say they're 'proud' of chaos at Capitol.

For me and many others, the election ended two months ago. It seems that some will not let it die. Yea, like Donald J. Trump.
Its disgusting. He incited the riots based on total phony claims and even now 45 percent of Republicans actively support the actions of the Capitol mob, while 43% opposed their actions.
And Trump was delighted over the riots:
Sasse says Trump was 'delighted' and 'excited' by reports of Capitol riot
What a sick sick man.
Whats even scarier is the this lifelong conman with a history of lies, racism, fraud, sexual assaults etc. etc. has convinced so many to follow him no matter what he does.

BRAVO KAYBLI for your TRUTHFUL & FACTUAL Comments & again thanks to RIZZ too!!! Bravo to both of you.
... Yes, the United States witnessed a mob of mostly White men breaking into its Congress, because they felt the law was theirs alone, and because so many ordinary Americans spent four years thinking the horror was either too ridiculous to fear, or would just pass.
But in the end, the quieter majority, not the loudest voice, remained standing. This short moment of ugly collapse should not lead Americans to dismiss the extraordinary eloquence and value of their system.
The rioters abused the privileges of their wealthy democracy - their free lives, in the richest nation on earth - to indulge in a fantastical, parallel reality, and livestream on open social media their breaking into the seat of government.
It was a spoilt child version of America - so "free" to do whatever it wants, it ignored the truths, laws and decency that actually enabled that freedom.

And it's becoming clear that as heinous as the attack looked in real time, on live TV and in our social feeds, it was even worse than we knew then. It was even more violent. It was even more treacherous. And Trump's behavior was even more disturbing. On Wednesday we witnessed history through a handful of soda straws, to borrow a metaphor from the 2003 Iraq invasion. A man who had an assault rifle was charged with threatening Nancy Pelosi, the House speaker, after he traveled to Washington for the pro-Trump rally on Wednesday and sent a text message saying he would put “a bullet in her noggin on Live TV,” the federal authorities said.--01-10-21: www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/our-president-wants-us-here-the-mob-that-stormed-the-capitol/ar-BB1cC0tP?li=BBnb7Kz ‘Our President Wants Us Here’: The Mob That Stormed the Capitol
It was the table setter for what would come, with nearly 2,000 people gathering in Washington on Tuesday evening for a “Rally to Save America.” Speaker after angry speaker stoked stolen-election conspiracy theories and name-checked sworn enemies: Democrats and weak Republicans, Communists and Satanists.
Still, the crowd seemed a bit giddy at the prospect of helping President Trump reverse the result of the election — though at times the language evoked a call to arms. “It is time for war,” one speaker declared.
As the audience thinned, groups of young men emerged in Kevlar vests and helmets, a number of them holding clubs and knives. Some were aligned with the neofascist Proud Boys; others with the Three Percenters, a far-right militia group.
“We’re not backing down anymore,” said a man with fresh stitches on his head. “This is our country.”
That night reflected a disconcerting mix of free speech and certain menace; of everyday Americans supporting their president and extremists prepared to commit violence for him. All had assembled in answer to Mr. Trump’s repeated appeals to attend a march to the Capitol the next day that he promised would be “wild.”
It was. By Wednesday afternoon, a narrow group of Trump supporters — some exuberant, some hellbent — had been storm-tossed together into infamy. A mob overran the nation’s Capitol, as lawmakers hid in fear. Wholesale vandalism. Tear gas. Gunfire. A woman dead; an officer dead; many injured. Chants of “U.S.A.! U.S.A.!”
But the insurrection failed.
It had been the culmination of a sustained assault by the president and his enablers on fact-based reality, one that began long before the November election but took on a fevered urgency as the certainty of Mr. Trump’s defeat solidified. For years, he had demonized political opponents and the media and egged on thuggish behavior at his rallies.

Nor will he turn power over to Pence and ask for a pardon
President Trump will not resign. Nor will he turn power over to Vice President Pence and ask him for a pardon, according to top White House advisers who have spoken with the highest ranking members of Mr. Trump's Cabinet, including Treasury Secretary Mnuchin, Pence and chief of staff Mark Meadows.
The president continues to ask senior advisers about his ability to pardon himself before he leaves office. It's a power that is untested and by no means settled. A Justice Department Office of Legal Counsel memo from 1976 says that the president cannot pardon himself or herself, so it would be a gamble. The president worries about his legal exposure post-presidency, but not necessarily related to the assault on the Capitol.--01-09-21: www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/a-trump-self-pardon-could-make-criminal-charges-more-likely/ar-BB1cAIZL?li=BBnb7Kz A Trump Self-Pardon Could Make Criminal Charges More Likely(Bloomberg) -- Any move by President Donald Trump to pardon himself in his final days in office could backfire, legal experts say, inviting the incoming administration to challenge the unprecedented action by filing criminal charges against him. Trump has raised the possibility of a self-pardon in recent days as calls grow for him to face prosecution for inciting the U.S. Capitol siege that resulted in five deaths and sent members of Congress scrambling for safety. But though the president has vast authority to grant clemency to others, a self-pardon would be a novel assertion of executive power that both Democrats and Republicans might want the Supreme Court to strike down. “It would almost set himself up as a sitting duck to be prosecuted,” said Nick Akerman, a former Watergate prosecutor. “It takes the edge off the idea that you’re going after somebody just because they were a political opponent in the prior administration.” Trump faced legal threats even before Wednesday’s riot. The administration of President-elect Joe Biden could decide to revive Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into obstruction of justice by Trump or launch a new probe into his taxes. But such prosecutions were likely to face stiff Republican opposition, and Biden has signaled he might prefer to move on. Scrambled Calculations The Capitol siege has now scrambled political calculations, with many of the president’s allies abandoning him. The New York Times reported on Thursday that White House Counsel Pat Cipollone warned Trump he could potentially face charges for encouraging the riot. At a press conference on Thursday, the acting U.S. attorney in Washington said he would not rule out investigating the president’s role. Under such circumstances, a self-pardon may prove tempting for Trump. But many experts say the idea has weak legal foundations.
