Yes. Because if Ted Cruz had stayed in Texas it would have solved the whole energy crisis. You can bet yer ass that there are plenty of Texans that have the means to get out of the state and did so. Some of them simply took a short drive, some took flights to exotic places. The public loves to kick people who have nothing to do with creating or fixing their problems. From the look of the problems Texas is having, the infrastructure that is missing or in disrepair has been such since before Cruz was born... My niece has been without heat and power the entire week. Luckily, she was able to move in with my sister who fortunately has not been without power. None of them “deserve” to be in this situation, irrespective of their political affiliation (neither are Republican supporters by the way). Ted Cruz, however, may just deserve all the vitriol he’s getting because of his statements years prior when California had similar problems with rolling blackouts (for different reasons). Cruz is certainly staunchly in favor of deregulation, as his voting record proves, which has allowed Texas’ power grid to go without safeguards for exactly this type of eventuality. Moreover, there is a reason Cruz cut short his trip to Cancun and sheepishly returned to Texas. It was a terrible decision and a lapse in leadership. Cruz is not just one of “plenty of Texans” with means: he is a representative of all Texans, including those without means who need power brokers to pull as many strings as they can to aid as many people as they can in a time of real crisis. Being on a plane to a Mexican resort because you can (escape a crisis) simply illustrates the disconnect from the oath taken as a United States senator. Of course all of this is, in the longer view, true. These days jobs like Cruz’ are mostly performed on telephones or via e-Mail, rather than in person and his presence in Texas is more symbolic than urgent. People want to believe that Ted Cruz is going to suffer as badly as Aunt Sally on her farm outside Austin. So Ted Winds up having the most complex systems of generation in the entire state and is warmer than toast. Someone discovers that and the media reports it and his ass is grass anyway. “Must be nice to be able to afford such luxury”.

Nice to see that if they wanted to, every congressman and celebrity could do more to help people in need... and it need not cost the poor more than what they can afford. It would be nice if she could have done that without sticking a couple of swords in the side of a beast that had wounded himself in the arena, but, hey... nice chance for her to deflect damage to herself as well... I hate politicians for the most part...

Cruz is a major part of the problem in Texas along with the Vast Majority of GOP Politicians/Voters & in regards to what happen with the FREEZE & NO POWER. PLEASE, YOU need to Stop reading QAnon Type Trash and please try to read Facts, Truth, Reality… (you are entitled to YOUR Opinion but NOT to YOUR FACTS). AND: A MUST READ--02-20-21: us.yahoo.com/news/top-texas-republicans-ropes-tone-043021827.html Top Texas Republicans on the ropes after tone-deaf storm response
The brutal winter storm that turned Texas roads to ice, burst pipes across the state and left millions of residents shivering and without power has also damaged the reputations of three of the state’s leading Republicans.
Sen. Ted Cruz was discovered to have slipped off to Mexico on Wednesday night, only to announce his return when he was caught in the act. Gov. Greg Abbott came under fire over his leadership and misleading claims about the causes of the power outages. And former Gov. Rick Perry suggested Texans preferred power failures to federal regulation, a callous note in a moment of widespread suffering.
It’s more than just a public relations crisis for the three politicians. The storm has also battered the swaggering, Texas brand of free-market governance that’s central to the state’s political identity on the national stage.
"Texans are angry and they have every right to be. Failed power, water and communications surely took some lives,” JoAnn Fleming, a Texas conservative activist and executive director of a group called Grassroots America, said in a text message exchange with POLITICO.
“The Texas electric grid is not secure,” said Fleming, pointing out that lawmakers “have been talking about shoring up/protecting the Texas electric grid for THREE legislative sessions (6 yrs),” but “every session special energy interests kill the bills with Republicans in charge ... Our politicians spend too much time listening to monied lobbyists & political consultants. Not enough time actually listening to real people.”
Chad Prather, a popular Republican humorist who is running for governor against Abbott next year, echoed similar sentiments about the three politicians.
“There’s no question that this is a case of failing to relate to the people of Texas,” said Prather, who is a host on the conservative network Blaze TV.
“I believe the person with the biggest consequence is going to be Greg Abbott,” Prather said. “The underlying murmur is that he, too, will make a presidential run and the governorship has become much of an afterthought. It would seem we are a little vacant at the top. At least that’s how many feel.”
One Texas GOP official, who did not want to be on record criticizing three of the state’s top Republicans, deadpanned that “this is not our party’s finest hour.” RIZZ: BRAVO = Moreover, there is a reason Cruz cut short his trip to Cancun and sheepishly returned to Texas. When the Texas power grid was on the brink of collapse and its operator plunged thousands into darkness, it didn’t make an exception for the oil and gas field.
Power was, unsurprisingly, diverted to hospitals and nursing homes. Ercot, as the grid manager is known, was staving off utter catastrophe, its chief executive later said.
But leaving shale fields like the Permian Basin dark had an unintended consequence. Producers who depend on electricity to power their operations were left with no way to pump natural gas. And that gas was needed more than ever to generate electricity.
As one executive described: It was like a death spiral.
The result was a vicious cycle that serves as a painful lesson to any power grid operator and utility company dealing with rolling outages during extreme weather.--02-20-21 YOU SAID WHAT???: www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/texas-blackouts-may-come-at-a-steep-cost/ar-BB1dPKGw?li=BBnbfcL Texas’ blackouts may come at a steep cost
As the lights begin to turn back on after nearly a week of outages across Texas, residents who already struggled to pay their utility bills might find it harder to recover.
Costs are piling up that could continue to limit some people’s access to heating and electricity even after blackouts end.
“The ‘heat or eat dilemma’ is a really, really significant issue,” says Emily Grubert, an assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
“We know that a lot of people are going to basically be choosing between paying for heating or paying for other things that they really need.” Indoor temperatures are likely to have dropped more sharply in homes that are less insulated against the elements. When heat is restored, it will cost more to warm those homes back up to bearable conditions.
Some Texans might face higher bills as a result, which will take a greater toll on folks who routinely sacrifice paying for food or medicine in order to keep the power on in their homes.
Images of ridiculously high energy bills are already making the rounds on social media. That’s because wholesale electricity costs skyrocketed amid weather-induced fuel shortages. Prices rose from roughly $50 per megawatt-hour to more than $9,000 per megawatt-hour on February 15th, according to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT).
As a result, Texans who opted into wholesale prices, which are typically pretty low, saw an astounding increase in their utility bill.--02-20-21: www.msn.com/en-us/money/news/amid-water-shortages-and-power-outages-texans-cry-foul-over-price-gouging-for-bottled-water-gas-and-dollar1000-hotel-rooms/ar-BB1dPzsT?li=BBnbfcL Amid water shortages and power outages, Texans cry foul over price gouging for bottled water, gas and $1,000 hotel rooms.--02-20-21 THEY ARE CORRECT—SUE THE HELL OUT OF THESE DUMB GOP MISFITS: www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/at-least-two-lawsuits-filed-against-texas-energy-committee-claim-it-was-aware-of-shortcomings-in-the-states-energy-supply-from-previous-winter-storms/ar-BB1dRyNk?li=BBnbfcL At least two lawsuits filed against Texas' energy committee claim it was aware of shortcomings in the state's energy supply from previous winter storms
At least two lawsuits have been filed alleging that Texas energy committee at the center of its ongoing power crisis knew of the state grid's shortcomings from past winter outages.
A lawsuit filed in Harris County, which includes Houston, on Thursday is seeking up to $10 million in damages from the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, or ERCOT, for its lack of preparedness leading up to Winter Storm Uri that hit much of the southern US on February 14.
It was filed by Fort Bend County residents Mauricio and Daysi Marin. Mauricio Marin still relies on oxygen after recovering from COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, and alleges the utility provider did not adequately prepare him for an extended outage, according to a report from Law360.
"ERCOT's forecast for the maximum electricity that would be consumed far under-estimated the reality," the lawsuit said. "As a result, millions were plunged into darkness and cold as a result of a loss of electricity."
Another lawsuit filed in Nueces County on Friday goes a step further, alleging ERCOT was aware of its energy supply's weaknesses following similar winter outages in 1989 and 2011 and could have done more to winterize its system prior to the February 14 storm that left roughly 4 million Texans without electricity and heat at its peak.
Millions of residents are still without water.
"This cold weather event and its effects on the Texas energy grid were neither unprecedented, nor unexpected, nor unforeseen," the Nueces County suit alleges.--02-20-21 HE IS CORRECT: www.msn.com/en-us/weather/topstories/bill-gates-texas-tradeoffs-lead-to-deaths/ar-BB1dQZVU?li=BBnbfcL Bill Gates: Texas' tradeoffs lead to deathsIn an interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper, Bill Gates said deaths during Texas' winter freeze were preventable, caused by the state's decision not to weatherize its energy. Gates pushed back on Texas Governor Greg Abbott's claim that frozen wind turbines were to blame for the massive power failure. Gates said America's dependence on renewable energy sources isn't high enough to worry about their stability — the problem was natural gas plants that were not weatherized. "This is not because of renewable dependency," Gates told Cooper. "This is natural gas plants, largely, that weren't weatherized. They could've been. It costs money, and the trade off was made, and it didn't work out, and it's tragic that its lead to people dying." He argued that because climate change is the root cause of extreme weather events, green energy must be the future to prevent even worse disasters than the ones unfolding now across the globe. "It is ironic to blame renewables and not realize that were going to have to be dealing with this unless we get the whole world to reduce omissions," Gates said. He also spoke to Cooper about Covid-19, climate change and the need for innovation in order to lower carbon emissions. Gates painted a grim picture for the what the world will look like without well-funded research and development for green innovations, a cause he has dedicated himself to. Natural ecosystems and the ability to farm in some parts of the world will be destroyed, leading to war and instability, he said.

Leroy Kennedy, a Black man, says in his lawsuit that he was walking on a sidewalk "minding his own business" on August 23, 2020. Despite not breaking any laws, he was suddenly grabbed by police and "slammed ... into a brick wall and officers then "slammed his head into the pavement more than once," the court document adds.
The arrest report of the incident, provided to CNN by Kennedy's attorneys and featured as part of the lawsuit, says that Kennedy looked "directly in (the officers') direction and stiffen(ed) his body" and "his eyes enlarge(d), meaning his eyebrows rose which produced a shocked look his face."
Officers wrote in the report that Kennedy's appearance, and the fact that he "adjusted his hands and manipulated his front lap area," led them to believe he was concealing a gun.
The body camera video from the two responding officers, provided by Kennedy's attorneys, shows officers run up to him and almost immediately slam him into a brick wall and then the pavement. At one point, the video shows one of the officer's hands grabbing Kennedy by the neck. The cameras did not record the first two minutes of sound of the encounter.
The video shows that Kennedy, with large visible scrapes to his forehead, was then put into the back of the squad car where he was searched and handcuffed. As this was occurring, a crowd of angry bystanders began to confront and yell at the officers.
After officers drove Kennedy a short distance to another location, an ambulance is called for him. The arrest report says he was taken to a hospital for treatment. Chicago Police records show he was arrested on two charges of resisting arrest and one charge of aggravated battery of a police officer.
The arrest report does not mention any weapons being found by Kennedy.
The criminal charges against Kennedy were dropped four months later, on December 18, 2020, according to a spokesperson from the Cook County State's Attorney's Office. I think he’s an ignorant fool.” As for children in the neighborhood, he said, “It’s not anything they haven’t seen or heard before.” “It’s the best $9 I ever spent on Amazon,” Stoto said, “because it’s (ticking) people off and opening their eyes.” Widely available, the anti-Biden flags have raised neighbors’ ire around the nation, news reports show. In New Hyde Park on Long Island, an elementary school principal urged parents to complain about the profane banner posted on a front yard fence. In Bay City, Michigan, Sheriff Troy Cunningham told a reporter that he also had consulted with a prosecutor and learned the flag was a Constitutionally protected statement. And in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, a homeowner who would only give her first name as Kimberly, told a reporter she had been getting harassing emails “that I am teaching our children words and that I am traumatizing children with freedom of speech, basically.” She said she took the flag down because she feared for her children’s safety. --02-19-21: www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/computer-repair-shop-owner-who-obtained-hunter-biden-laptop-sues-twitter-over-hacked-materials-claim/ar-BB1dPS87?li=BBnbfcL Computer repair shop owner who obtained Hunter Biden laptop sues Twitter over 'hacked materials' claim The former Delaware computer repair shop owner who says he came into possession of Hunter Biden’s laptop sued Twitter for a second time over how the social media platform handled a New York Post story on President Biden's son, Hunter Biden, alleging the tech company defamed him by implying he was a hacker. The bill comes as Georgia has become ground zero for election law changes in the wake of the 2020 election. Republicans in the state, citing baseless allegations of voter fraud pushed by former President Donald Trump and other GOP officials, have moved to roll back access to mail-in voting and early voting. The Republican House bill would give counties less time to send out absentee ballots and do away with Sunday voting, among other measures. --02-18-21 BUT IT IS JUST NOT BLACKS ETC. On Thursday, the North Dakota House of Representatives passed a bill that would ban transgender student athletes from joining teams that match their gender identity. The measure, which passed 65 to 26, also calls for withholding state funds from sporting events that allow athletes to play as anything other than their sex assigned at birth. The bill now heads to the state Senate.
Supporters of the bill — including Republican state Rep. Ben Koppelman, its primary sponsor — say they want to protect opportunities for girls in sports, including access to athletic scholarships.
“Some have said this bill just doesn’t follow the science. We’ve got science going back well before the United States that backs this,” Koppelman said in a committee meeting, according to NBC affiliate KFYR-TV. “This isn’t new science. Men and women didn’t just cease to exist. They’ve existed for a long time and we’ve been able to recognize the differences.”
House Minority Leader Josh Boschee, a Democrat, countered that the bill would “codify discrimination.”
“North Dakota transgender youth, you are seen and you are loved by many,” Boschee later tweeted. “This vote is infuriating and we will continue to work to have it defeated in the Senate.”
The same day the North Dakota House passed its bill, the Mississippi state Senate passed its own athletic ban, which now goes to the state House for consideration. Here's why that's so dangerous.
When news of a 9-year-old Rochester girl being pepper-sprayed by police made headlines earlier this month — and again late last week, as newly released footage showed cops scolding the girl — it prompted many to speak out once again against police brutality, with the girl's mom, Elba Pope, saying she's preparing to file a lawsuit against the police department.
But one exchange from the incident — of cops telling the girl to "stop acting like a child," and her responding, "I am a child!" — has sparked a particular brand of outrage across the country: It’s reinvigorated the discussion about how children of color, like the unidentified girl, are so often seen as adults by white authority figures — and how that perception has proven again and again to be a matter of life and death. “The fact that this officer couldn't hear and process her say, ‘I am a child’ is a big problem,” Tracie Keesee, co-founder of the Center for Policing Equity, tells Yahoo Life. She explains that the young girl was not only a victim of police brutality, but also what's known as adultification bias — a form of prejudice that assumes Black children are older than they are, causing “teachers, parents and law enforcement [to be] less protective and more punitive with certain kids.” Kessee, a 25-year Denver Police Department and 4-year New York Police Department vet, adds, “Race is a factor in adultification. It’s the same thing that happens with young Black boys and reinforces that Black girls are less innocent." The recent Rochester incident is just the latest such example. Just last month, a school resource officer in Florida body-slammed a Black high school girl onto concrete, causing her to lose consciousness — a scene reminiscent of those that have gone viral many times before. In a 2017 study, University of Florida law professor Michelle S. Jacobs examined instances in which Black girls are attacked by officers called in to assist them, noting that the use of social media has brought more awareness to the issue. --02-19-21: us.yahoo.com/news/woman-allegedly-throws-snowball-asian-181119134.html Woman Allegedly Throws Snowball at Asian Man's Car and Calls Him a 'F**king C**nk' in Washington.

Not long after he used a stick to swing and stab at police officers struggling to protect the U.S. Capitol from a pro-Trump mob seeking to overturn the results of the 2020 election, Jonathan Mellis took to Facebook. He apparently didn’t like what he saw.
Many of his fellow Trump supporters, the ones who like him bought into former President Donald Trump’s lies about mass voter fraud, were starting to believe in another conspiracy theory: that “antifa” was responsible for the attack Mellis participated in.
Mellis wasn’t having it. He hated antifa. And he wasn’t about to see them get credit for his work.
“Don’t you dare try to tell me that people are blaming this on antifa and BLM,” Mellis wrote, referring to Black Lives Matter. “We proudly take responsibility for storming the Castle. Antifa and BLM or [sic] too pussy … We are fighting for election integrity. They heard us.”
The criminal case against Mellis ― dubbed “Cowboy Screech” by online sleuths because of his resemblance to the “Saved By The Bell” character and his cowboy hat ― was unsealed Tuesday. He faces several charges, including for assaulting officers and aiding and abetting, civil disorder, entering a restricted building or grounds, violent entry or disorderly conduct, and obstruction of Justice/Congress.
Mellis wasn’t alone. While plenty of defendants later arrested and charged in connection with the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol joined many of their fellow Trump supporters in blaming antifa for the attack, plenty of others were also a bit upset that their work alongside a mob of Trump supporters was being attributed to some fictitious gang of anti-fascists.--02-19-21: us.yahoo.com/news/neighbors-hang-kkk-flag-window-155709337.html Neighbors hang KKK flag in window in response to Black neighbor’s security camera
Allies have decided to protest against the whites who hung a Ku Klux Klan banner in their window.According to Deadline Detroit, JeDonna Matthews Dinges looked through her side window Tuesday in Grosse Point Park and faced a Ku Klux Klan flag hanging in her neighbor’s side window. Dinges, a Black woman, said she was shocked and upset by the sight of the flag. After advice from friends, she called the Michigan attorney general’s office because she didn’t have confidence authorities would help. They told her that there was nothing they could do because the offensive banner was on private property. Dinges and her friends then posted pictures of the hanging flag on social media — and shortly after, a pair public-safety detectives came to her door. They reportedly told Dinges the neighbors they’d just visited told them the Klan flag was in their window because she had recently installed a surveillance camera on hers. She told detectives the camera was necessary because she found a full gasoline canister in trash and was worried that someone put it there to cause an explosion. Dinges contended she’d gone to local police about the gasoline, but nothing was done. The camera was put up, she said, to capture evidence for law enforcement. Rush Limbaugh, the right-wing talk show host who gleefully stoked division in America, helped polarize our national politics and made a career trafficking in bigotry and cruelty, died Wednesday at the age of 70. The cause of death was lung cancer. His wife, Kathryn, confirmed the host’s death on Facebook.
Over three decades on the national airwaves, Limbaugh promoted profoundly offensive ideas, often referring to feminists as “feminazis”; long calling AIDS “the Rock Hudson disease”; and once observing that the NFL “looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons.” --02-18-21: www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/fox-and-friends-rails-at-ny-times-for-calling-out-rush-limbaughs-misogyny-conspiracy-theories-in-his-obituary-so-sick/ar-BB1dNv22?li=BBnbfcL … “It’s so sick that I barely feel comfortable putting it on the screen,” Hegseth said. He then flashed a screenshot of the Times’ piece remembering Limbaugh as a man who “built talk radio into a right-wing attack machine,” used “misogynistic and racist language,” and “trafficked in conspiracy theories.”
The Times’ piece took a deep dive into Limbaugh’s controversial history, including his birther conspiracies about Barack Obama, his attacks on “Feminazis” and the disabled, his numerous instances of homophobia, his unsubstantiated voter fraud claims about the 2020 election, and his dismissive response to the storming of the U.S. Capitol. Ardern’s backing for the initiative is the latest win for an increasingly global movement to reduce costs and stigma around menstruation. Many countries classify pads and tampons as luxury items. Critics say these “tampon taxes” create undue expenses for basic necessities.

A new bill introduced in the House seeks to improve the U.S. military’s ability to prevent white supremacists from joining its ranks.
The “Shielding our Military from Extremists Act” was introduced on Thursday by Rep. Pete Aguilar (D-Calif.), his office confirmed. The measure would require the Secretary of Defense to adapt a series of recommendations made in an October 2020 Pentagon report on how to keep “domestic extremists,” namely white supremacists, out of the U.S. armed forces.
The recommendations in the Pentagon report — a copy of which was obtained by HuffPost — include giving the Department of Defense access to the FBI’s database of extremist tattoos and creating clearer security clearance questions about white nationalism. Aguilar told HuffPost he thought the Pentagon report “made clear that white supremacists are using our military to further their hateful and violent agenda, from acquiring training to recruiting new members — they’re joining our armed forces with dangerous motives.” “And while we have systems in place to safeguard against this,” Aguilar continued, “we need more collaboration between agencies, like the DOJ, and FBI to make sure that we’re keeping extremists from our service members and from our community members.” --02-19-21 BRAVO: www.msn.com/en-us/tv/news/judge-dismisses-devin-nunes-lawsuit-against-cnn/ar-BB1dQbM7?li=BBnbfcL Judge Dismisses Devin Nunes’ Lawsuit Against CNN

It’s important that we understand WHY people think the way they do. See, like in this instance, I just thought you were being an asshole, but it turns out that you don’t understand that I am posting concerns that I can only offer counter points to what you are posting. I think if we had an actual Q-Anon poster I would certainly have counter points to raise with that person, and more so than those that I post vs. you.
I think that politically, I am slightly right of center and identify as moderate, or Independent. I see you as identifying as a moderate (Independent) but as actually being much further to the left than you identify. That may explain why I see you as a solid Democrat, about as far left as possible.
I didn’t mean that I read NO other news, but my reading is more random. I see headlines on Apple news, Yahoo, CNN, some of the rightist sites. If one catches my eye I will follow the article. It’s all rather meaningless to me because I realize this country’s media has become nothing more than propaganda, proving that despite “freedom” of our press, that only leads to the government news vs. the anti-government take on news.
Anyway, we’re both assholes. That’s the way it should be!
Be well, my friend. Our political differences may be great, but we can still be friends. When the civil war starts, there’s little chance either one of us we be one the front lines with a weapon, so this will never make a good movie.

A fervent supporter of former President Donald Trump has been charged with a hate crime after police said she attacked a Hispanic man outside a Florida supermarket and vowed “to get rid of every single one of you.”
Dr. Jennifer Wright, 58, was arrested Friday after a month-long investigation into the incident in the Miami suburb of Hialeah.
The woman launched the racist attack after the victim asked her to follow social distancing rules inside a local Publix store on Jan. 20, the day President Biden was inaugurated, according to a police report obtained by the Miami Herald.
The man initially asked her in Spanish, but his request was ignored. He then repeated it in English as the woman began “mumbling bad words,” police wrote in the report.
Wright, an anesthesiologist at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, later followed the victim in the parking lot, confronted him and called him a series of racial slurs, authorities said.
“We should have gotten rid of you when we could,” the enraged suspect allegedly yelled.
She is also accused of saying, “This is not going to be Biden’s America. This is my America,” and, “We should have burned it all.”
Wright then proceeded to “stab the victim’s vehicle with her keys while saying he needed to go back to his country,” according to the report reviewed by the Herald.
She also punched and kicked the man as he tried to call 911, police said. The angry doctor was charged with criminal mischief, tampering with a victim and battery with prejudice, which is a “hate crime” felony. She was later released on bond, jail records show.
Wright’s social media history suggests she’s a loyal Trump supporter who often shares conspiracy theories on Facebook.

Last month, Dominion sued Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, accusing him of proliferating similar conspiracies about the company in order to “financially enrich himself.”AND –02-22-21 DAMN RIGHT BRAVO--F-HIM & DONALD: www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/eric-trump-offers-bill-de-blasio-an-olive-branch-but-nyc-mayor-says-no-more-business/ar-BB1dU8lO?li=BBnb7Kz Eric Trump Offers Bill de Blasio an Olive Branch, but NYC Mayor Says No More Business Having long been a critic, Eric Trump exhibited uncharacteristic appreciation of New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio for keeping open two ice skating rinks operated by the Trump Organization. But the city is refusing to relent on its push to sever ties with Donald Trump's businesses in the wake of the U.S. Capitol riot the former president is accused of inciting, an allegation he denies. Last month, de Blasio announced NYC would be terminating three contracts with the Trump Organization following the U.S. Capitol attack on January 6. The decision affects the Central Park Carousel, Wollman and Lasker skating rinks, and Ferry Point Golf Course—all of which are operated by Trump's business empire. "The President incited a rebellion against the United States government that killed five people and threatened to derail the constitutional transfer of power," Mayor Bill de Blasio said in a statement last month, adding the city "will not be associated with those unforgivable acts in any shape, way or form."

Her parents watched in proud disbelief as she inched closer to that goal, enrolling in a medical school in Barbados and enlisting in the military with plans to serve one day as a flight surgeon. Then came an unexpected hurdle: A contentious divorce led Cromblin to take seven years away from medical school to care for her two sons. In 2012, she returned for her final year, excited to complete her exams and apply for residency, the final step in her training. But no one had told Cromblin that hospital residency programs, which have been flooded with a rising number of applications in recent years, sometimes use the Electronic Residency Application Service software program to filter out various applications, whether they’re from students with low test scores or from international medical students.
Cromblin had passed all her exams and earned her M.D., but was rejected from 75 programs. In the following years, as she kept applying, she learned that some programs filter out applicants who graduated from medical school more than three years earlier. Her rejection pile kept growing. She is now on unemployment, with $250,000 in student loans. “There are times you question your worth,” Cromblin, 43, said. “You wonder if you’re useless. I’ve had to encourage myself over and over: I am worth it. I am useful. I am damn good.” Cromblin is one of as many as 10,000 chronically unmatched doctors in the United States, people who graduated from medical school but are consistently rejected from residency programs. The National Resident Matching Program promotes its high match rate, with 94% of American medical students matching into residency programs last year on Match Day, which occurs annually on the third Friday in March. But the match rate for Americans who study at medical schools abroad is far lower, with just 61% matching into residency spots. --02-22-21 STUPID BE STUPID: www.msn.com/en-us/tv/news/meghan-mccain-wants-dr-anthony-fauci-replaced-with-someone-who-%e2%80%9cunderstands-science%e2%80%9d/ar-BB1dUzfK?li=BBnbfcL Meghan McCain Wants Dr. Anthony Fauci Replaced With Someone Who “Understands Science”

An Arkansas man stormed the Capitol waving the US flag and used its pole to beat a police officer, said a federal grand jury. He faces up to 40 years in prison. Peter Stager was among a group of Trump supporters who were dragging an officer down the Capitol stairs.
A federal jury indicted Peter Stager of Conway, Arkansas on a total of seven charges.
Stager is accused of using a dangerous or deadly weapon to "forcibly assault, resist, impose, impede, intimidate and interfere with an officer."
A Capitol rioter who used a flagpole to beat a police officer on January 6 could be facing jail time of up to 40 years, according to a federal indictment released Wednesday.

Here's what that means. WASHINGTON — The exit of Donald Trump has brought back a more normal rhythm to politics in Washington, but outside the Beltway, deeper forces are reshaping partisan landscape. Data from the NBC News poll shows that the composition of the two major parties is changing, and one massive shift is coming in employment: the kinds of jobs Democrats and Republicans hold. There are signs across racial and ethnic demographic groups that Republicans are becoming the party of blue-collar Americans and the change is happening quickly. If the movement continues it could have a very large impact on the future of the GOP. Consider the scale of the change overall. In the last decade, the percentage of blue-collar voters who call themselves Republicans has grown by 12 points. At the same time, the number in that group identifying as Democrats has declined by 8 points. Among white-collar voters, the numbers have remained stable, with Democrats seeing a tiny increase and Republicans seeing a tiny drop. But that blue-collar shift is noteworthy because of the policy implications it could have for the two parties. Blue-collar voters tend to want different things from the government than those with white-collar jobs, on issues such as trade and even Wall Street regulation. Some signs of what this change could mean became visible just after the election when Republican voters aligned with former President Donald Trump called for larger Covid-19 relief payments from the government. A larger cash payout is not a policy choice one would normally associate with Republicans. In that way, the blue-collar shift for the GOP has the potential to reshape the party, especially considering how far-reaching it is even beyond the white, non-Hispanic voters who make up the overwhelming majority of Republicans. -- A MUST READ-02-21-21 MAYBE DONALD DIES FROM HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE/HEART ATTACK ETC. = FROM BEING ON THIS DIET: us.yahoo.com/huffpost/trump-diet-coke-restaurant-washington-230927889.html Serving Trump A Diet Coke Required Elaborate Steps, Says Leaked Restaurant Document A report on the inner workings of BLT Prime, the steakhouse inside the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C., has revealed the extensive serving procedure for former president Donald Trump’s Diet Cokes — as well as several other demanding tendencies of Trump’s inner circle. The report was published by Washingtonian magazine, which obtained a “Standard Operating Procedure” document used by former BLT Prime staffers. According to the document, servers had to follow a series of steps every time Trump ordered a Diet Coke. These included presenting him with a bottle of hand sanitizer, asking Trump if he wanted the soda with or without ice, providing glasses and chilled bottles in advance of his reply, holding both the bottle opener and the Diet Coke by their lower thirds while presenting them, opening the bottle in front of Trump — “never beforehand” — and gingerly placing the beverage on Trump’s right-hand side. Trump’s dining procedure was similarly complex, even though the president always ate the same dishes: a shrimp cocktail, a well-done steak, fries, and occasionally apple pie or chocolate cake. Popovers accompanying the steak had to be served within two minutes, and servers had to open multiple bottles of Heinz ketchup in front of the then-president, making sure he could hear each bottle make a “pop.” “Trump himself never returned a plate, but if he was disappointed, you can bet the complaint would travel down the ranks,” the Washingtonian story said. “Like the time the President questioned why his dining companion had a bigger steak.” The report also revealed that trays of junk food, ranging from Snickers bars to gummy bears to Tootsie Rolls, were prepared for Trump each time he came by the restaurant. Other members of Trump’s inner circle were also high maintenance. These included Hope Hicks, the White House’s former director of strategic communications, who once criticized staff for taking too long with her meal and received an apology from the manager and a “dessert storm” to make up for the delayed service. Tiffany Trump, who sometimes brunched at the restaurant with her friends from Georgetown Law, was often a no-show for reservations, and one former staffer describing her cancellations as a “pain.” Most trying of all, however, was Rudy Giuliani, who would often demand a table for 10 without prior notice and seemed to treat the restaurant like an office. Former executive chef Bill Williamson said that he was always “doing more paperwork there than eating,” and eventually staffers created a plaque that read “RUDOLPH W. GIULIANI PRIVATE OFFICE” and placed it on the former New York mayor’s table prior to his arrival. Trump’s love of Diet Cokes extended beyond BLT Prime and into the Oval Office itself. The former president reportedly drank a dozen a day, and had a red button on his desk that he used to special order the sodas. The button was removed after president Joe Biden entered office. --02-21-21: www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/former-trump-dc-hotel-chef-said-that-suppliers-were-suddenly-sending-rotten-produce-and-lower-quality-meat-after-he-started-working-there/ar-BB1dRv51 Former Trump DC hotel chef said that suppliers 'were suddenly sending' rotten produce and lower-quality meat after he started working there
BLT Prime, the Trump DC restaurant hotel, often received rotten produce, according to a former chef. According to the Washingtonian, food suppliers sent the chef "rotten produce and subpar cuts of meat." Rudy Giuliani was a regular presence at the restaurant and treated his table like a workspace. Visit the Business section of Insider for more stories. While the BLT Prime restaurant at the Trump International Hotel in Washington DC was marketed for its upscale sensibilities, it often received spoiled produce, the steakhouse's former executive chef told Washingtonian magazine. With former President Donald Trump out of office and living at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida, several employees spoke out about their experiences at the hotel. After Bill Williamson, the executive chef of BLT Prime at the Trump International Hotel from February 2018 to March 2020, joined the restaurant, food suppliers whom he had successfully worked with in the past "were suddenly sending him rotten produce and subpar cuts of meat and fish," according to Washingtonian. "I guarantee someone in that warehouse picking this product saw where it was going and was like, 'Oh, f--- it, give 'em this stuff,'" Williamson said.
