+1... I can imagine myself a starting pitcher. I’d say the same thing. In fact, I’d also say “Please trade me. If you don’t, you may wish you had”. Only I wouldn’t add the second part to the text, nor reveal it to the press. I’d tell him to his face that I want no part of an organization that would butcher the game like that. So don’t trade me to the Rays. If I’m at the stage of my career that Bum is, I’d rather retire that pit up with it. I did it with my pissy-assed little corporate job, so you know I mean it... |

I'd have to agree, Chi...Given the fragility of CC's knee and the track records of Tanaka and Paxton, it would be highly unexpected if we don't have need for a sixth starter at some point in the season. The team may make another move, or wind up retaining Gray as a swing man... If not, even a short-term injury will allow some lucky kid a shot at a few starts here and there... CC is gone after this year and just had a stint done. Tanaka and Paxton have significant health issues. Severino has attention disorder syndrome and might run off to join a circus any day... CC is gone after this year and just had a stint done. Tanaka and Paxton have significant health issues. Severino has attention disorder syndrome and might run off to join a circus any day... Tanaka and Paxton have significant health issues?!? I believe CC had a stent, not a stint and that Tanaka’s “health issue” has been put on hold for about the past three seasons without an implosion. He may be the only human being who knows how to pitch without having a single ligament left anywhere in his body. Paxton HAD arm issues for a few seasons, just like many other young pitchers who got past them. As far as the comically made up attention disorder of Severino, well... Russ has spent his entire career studying attention disorder and is an apparent expert in the field, always on top of things himself. I’d just take his word for it. He’s joined the circus many times himself, right before our eyes. Russ, you silly thing. Always so worried about the world ending. Why go look at Yellowstone National Park when you just know that the day you go it’ll blow up?...By the way, you forgot to say anything negative about Happ. I’ll pray for a hangnail that you can infect and project a finger amputation for... |

It’s quite true that people show love in many ways that others don’t understand...It must be difficult to be the loved one in those relationships...Even if you’re a baseball team... In the long run, how much does any of this matter? If all of the Yankee pitchers pitch up to their potential, the team may run away with the division. That, along with Mookie Betts and Xander Boegarts big seasons was why Boston ran and hid last year. If all the Yankee pitches fall victim to injury or poor performance, the team could fall out of the playoffs. It shouldn’t ruin any of our lives if that happens. I hope we all have more to cling to than our favorite baseball team. Maybe that’s the issue. Maybe some don’t...That’s a scary thought... |
