Yankees should always consider how weird the players that have beards will look if they have to shave...Makes McCutch look a bit younger. Maybe he'll see that in the mirror and light a fire under his ass...

www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/08/yankees-acquire-adeiny-hechavarria.htmlThe Yankees have announced that they have acquired shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria from the Pirates. Cash will also go to New York in the deal, with a player to be named later or cash considerations heading back to Pittsburgh. New York designated southpaw Ryan Bollinger to open a 40-man spot.

Not good news for Toe. Adeiny is a good fielder. Can play short and second.

Seems to be an odd deal with Hechavarria being a 29 year old veteran with only a .291 lifetime OBP...Yes, he can field...Maybe the errors are getting to Cash and Boone, too???

Unless Didi gets some time off due to the heel. He said it would bother him the rest of the season. Maybe defensive replacement in the late innings or in blowouts? Maybe DH him sometimes? I know Torres has made a bucket of errors at short. They could avoid using him there with this move. Just guessing here.

Not good news for Toe. Adeiny is a good fielder. Can play short and second. The infield defense has been putrid since DiDi got hurt but Toe has been the most reliable of the infielders.

There has to be an issue with Didi and the heel. As for Torres, he's a natural SS, but not seemingly ready for prime time at the position. He tries to make gold out of every play. Sometimes you have to know when to hold the ball...Just as in his base running, he still has some wild horse in him and will try to get too much out of his ability...

They already had a plus infield defender who can’t hit, in Tyler Wade though, who is going to be available as a Sept callup. Really don’t see what the point was in this move.

I could have sworn Didi said the heel was going to be an issue the rest of the way, so it’s just a case of managing the discomfort. Since Adeiny is a good fielding SS, it kind of makes sense to have a guy like that down the stretch and into the POs when defence is of critical importance. Again, I’m no brainiac as you all know, but on that level it makes sense.

It really sucks, since he and Judge are two of the most important players on the teem and they're both out.

Don't despair folks. Cashman's analytical people have taken note of the direction of each of the 3,000 seventeen-hop grounders that Hechavarria has hit in his professional career. The grounds crew has been instructed to tailor the infield to "make the most" of that situation with judicious distribution of water, footprints and rake marks. The analytics department believes that if they can turn an occasional seventeen hop ground ball into say, a fourteen hopper, that they can raise the players OBP to over .300...Stay tuned for this exciting development...

Given how he turned out right on Didi and Hicks, I wouldn’t doubt that anymore.
