1. Andrew McCutchen (R) LF
2. Aaron Judge (R) RF
3. Aaron Hicks (S) CF
4. Giancarlo Stanton (R) DH
5. Luke Voit (R) 1B
6. Didi Gregorius (L) SS
7. Miguel Andujar (R) 3B
8. Gary Sanchez (R) C
9. Gleyber Torres (R) 2B

I feel bad for Gardner but right now this is the best possible lineup Boone can run out there. |

I feel bad for Gardner but right now this is the best possible lineup Boone can run out there. Gardner is still on team, making his post-season bonus despite his disappointing second half and .237 BA. Fret not for the Jet. I believe he understands his circumstance... |

I feel bad for Gardner but right now this is the best possible lineup Boone can run out there. Agreed...Gardy will be a good late game replacement as PH or for defense. I suspect Romine will be a late game defensive replacement too, which is why they are carrying 3 catchers (just in case). |

The Yankees official roster for tonight's game: How great to see a roster like that -- 15 position players, 10 pitchers. Love the flexibility it affords. An actual team. Yeah, I know no team anymore can do that as a regular roster, but I will enjoy it while it lasts (one day). Sometime in the next 25 years we will see 50-man rosters, 40 of which will be pitchers. None of them will be able to throw more than two or three pitches per game, but they will be the best two or three pitches you ever saw. All the specialization you could ever want. |
