The A's don't have a lot of good options. Fiers? Maybe. But he's a flyball pitcher who's given up a lot of HRs.
True that. The loss of Sean Manaea makes what the A's accomplished even more impressive. Who could have ever believed that Edwin Jackson would be a key component for a contending team? Definitely a wing and a prayer starting pitching.

I am a huge fan of Severino but don’t like this decision given how he’s pitched in the second half. Happ gives us our best chance to win. Hopefully he steps up and stays focused and it works out because Happ against Boston would be great but it feels like a gamble.

Maybe the Yankees know things we don't. Maybe Sevy looked great in those bullpen sessions. He's going to be on 8 days rest which could work either way for him.

Hopefully it works out. When he’s right he is our most dominant starter but we haven’t seen that consistently for a while. Maybe they’re planning on telling him to just throw maximim effort for 3-4 IP and don’t worry about pacing or giving them length.

I would have preferred either Happ or Tanaka. Severino is too inconsistent and had a rough game against MN last year.

It hasn't been exactly lights out recently. The talent is there definitely. Let's hope no one buckles under the pressure!

I read one of the A's biggest weaknesses is the curveball. They have one of the lowest OPSes against the curveball. So Robertson and Betances you know what to do!
