Any thoughts on this? Gray's numbers away from Yankee Stadium were very good, so if I was a GM from a National League, I'd be all over this. You could get a good, young pitcher on the cheap.

They should trade him. I don’t know why but he was meaningfully worse for he Yankeees than he was for Oakland. I don’t think the ballpark explains everything but hoping for something better next year doesn’t seem like a great strategy.

They're busy with NLCS right now, but they've had issues with their rotation all season. Gray would be a nice addition for them.

After listening to Cashman's remarks, there is no way they are keeping him. He has obvious talent, but we don't need any more evidence to prove that he can't pitch to save his life in Yankee Stadium, at least as a Yankee, although he was good enough on the road. Ed Whitson Syndrome is a terrible illness, and the only known cure is being traded to a galaxy far, far away.
I like Chi's suggestion of Milwaukee, a less pressure-filled environment where he might thrive. And if he does, at least he won't be pitching against the Yankees several times a year. What can they give us in return?
I wish him well. He seems like a decent guy, and obviously took his failures hard. It was a trade that looked good when it was made. But it doesn't look so good now. We can put him on that list of Yankee pitching acquisitions like Jeff Weaver and Nathan Eovaldi who had stuff that looked great at times but couldn't get it together in the pinstripes.

At least Gray is sill an asset that can be flipped for something of value if Cashman isn't desperate to deal him.

Wait a minute! This is a joke, right? WILLING to trade Sonny Gray? WILLING? I suppose he’s also “willing” to breath, right? Damned right he’s willing. What else is he going to with him? Send him out for sandwiches? Assign him to work with Kostanza???

Watching that guy pitch was maddening. Was willing to trade him at the end of June. Hope we get SOMETHING out of him.

Used, unsigned, scuffed baseballs that failed initial inspection out of the factory kind of baseballs. And the bag could have a hole in it...Maybe we should offer him back to Oakland for any two of the three players we gave for him...
