David Robertson reportedly said that the Yankees never even made him an offer. That did surprise me a bit. Maybe they know something we don't. They know he’ll be 34 in 2019 and is at an age where the odds for continuation of top performance for a power pitcher is diminishing rapidly. I’m a big fan, but time catches up with everyone. D-Rob has a marginal speed FB and has made it work with deception of delivery and the combination of a hook that should have ripped every tendon out of his shoulder years ago. When he eventually drops 1-2 MPH, he’ll struggle. I hope he pitches forever. I would have probably been dumb enough to sign him based on sentiment...When Cash fills out those forms on line he fails the “I am not a robot” tests most of the time... While I would love to have had him back, I’m in agreement that we should move on, and would rather have Britton. Have I mentioned I like DeClerc? Of course I have...maybe once, twice, three times a lady or more...
