Sizzler or Stuart Anderson's Black Angus...don't know if there are either in your part of the country. We used to have Sizzler but it went out of business. I used to actually enjoy the buffet as a kid. Black Angus is a West Coast thing. They're not here in Jersey/NYC.
Here's a list of steakhouses I've been to in NYC off the top of my head (Mostly Manhattan):
-Peter Luger's -Keen's -Old Homestead
-Club A -Sparks -Quality Meats -Del Frisco's -Strip House -BLT Prime -Wolfgang's -Porter House -Bowery Meat Company -Delmonico's
I've never been to any of those, and never will. You're obviously a very sophisticated "foodie"...I'm a sports bar kinda guy. That said...if you ever get to Denver, check out Buckhorn Exchange... www.buckhorn.com/

I happen to be friends with a few people who are "foodies" and I just tag along on their coattails.
Buckhorn Exchange looks delicious. I've never had buffalo steak before. I would try that. inger lives in Colorado. Maybe he can give it a try if he ever braves the big city.

Yeah..."inger" and I have talked quite a bit. In fact, I may stop in Alamosa on my way thru Colorado this July. San Luis Valley Brewing Company looks like my kind of place....a good place to stop for a well-done burger and a brew...or two.

I've been to Del Frisco's in Dallas and in Las Vegas. Las Vegas was a disappointment. The one in Dallas was really good (circa 2003). In fact, THE Del Frisco came and sat at my table and chatted for a good thirty minutes. Then, after our meal, he brought out his own Irish cream for us to try (wasn't yet on the menu). He came to the table because I paid with an LSU credit card (purple and gold). He walked up to our table and said, "Who's this old Louisiana catfish trying to sneak this worthless LSU credit card?" Evidently, he had ties to Louisiana. Emeril's Delmonico's in Las Vegas was excellent when I went years ago.

It’s only 126 miles to the nearest Texas Roadhouse from here… I have a Texas Roadhouse close to me. I like the bread and the steaks not bad for a chain restaurant. You could do worse than Texas Roadhouse. Just don't order your steak well done like you like to do. That’s “no pink”. Well done is another world…

Went once...blaring faux-country music. Hard pass... Yea, thats kind of the vibe there.
You can always try Outback Steakhouse, mate. Now we're talking fancy cuisine. Last time I went to an Outback there was a drunk in there loading proclaiming that the steaks were donkey meat. “I’ve had donkey before, and I know what it taste like, and this is donkey meat.”…😂 It was a fun visit for sure, mate!… I should have started in on the bloomin’ onion being a duckpin ball. I’ve rolled duckpins and I know what their balls look like”…

I may have said this somewhere else before, but I'll say it again. Definitely not a foodie, but a few years ago my son and I were in Indianapolis to see tge Colts play the Houston Texans. We're both Colts fans. Saturday evening before the game we were walking around town and decided to go see St. Elmo's Steak House, kind of a bucket list restaurant. Right outside the restaurant we literally almost ran into JJ Watt. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going and my son pulled me out of his way so I wouldn't bump into him. A huge human being. Anyway, we walked into the steak house to see how long the wait might be. The hostess asked if we had reservations. We said no. She asked how many of us in our party. We said two. Instead of saying it would be a 45 minute or hour wait, she pointed to the back of the room and said, "Go see that guy at the end of the bar, and he'll take you to your table." So we were seated immediately at the table JJ Watt had just vacated. Of course, our story is that we had JJ Watt kicked out of St. Elmo's so we could have the table. And we're sticking to it.

A little pricey for this poverty-stricken valley, but when it comes to burgers and beer there will always be a crowd. Besides, it’s not the ranch and business owners that are poverty stricken, it’s the labor force…

Never had a bison steak (I hate calling them buffalo). Bison burgers are good, but I prefer beef. Elk burgers are absolutely delicious. Ruthie is afraid to eat either one. Apparently the only ungulates she will consume are cattle and swine. No goat, either, not even the milk…

I remember their steak being a little too salty for my taste.

I haven't had any food from Francie yet, but that duck looks absolutely delicious. I know the area, Francie is about 2 blocks away from one of my favorite restaurants (Peter Luger's). And, not that far away from one of my favorite Italian restaurants (Bamonte's).
Now, I'm dreaming about a day when I can have duck from Francie, steak from Peter Luger's, Chicken Francese from Belmonte's, then take the Williamsburg bridge over to Manhattan for Pizza at Lombardi's, all in the same day. Mmmmm. I made myself hungry and I just ate lunch. You’ve got to try it Max. I won’t say it’s the best duck I’ve ever had but it’s up there. I love Luger’s of course but we found that Wolfgangs in Manhattan (they have different locations) has about 95 percent the quality without all the hassle of getting a tough reservation and going all the way to Brooklyn. They have almost the same exact menu too as it was started a former Luger employee. We still go to Lugers sometimes but if we need steak in a pinch it’s usually Wolfgangs now. I have to try the chicken francese from Belmonte’s. That sounds delicious!
I will try it someday.
I've been craving Bamonte's chicken francese, stuffed mushrooms, and eggplant rollatini since yesterday when I mentioned their chicken francese. Wow, I didnt know that Wolfgang's was started a former Peter Luger employee.

I love buffalo burgers, buffalo steak. But I never had quail, elk, rattlesnake, or alligator tail. Has anyone here tried quail, elk, rattlesnake, or alligator tail? If so... How did they taste?
