Mayo is a must for me on egg or tuna salads. There was a food stand in Manhattan where I'm pretty sure the food server put Tabasco Sauce on shish kabob, it was delicious. Yes...mayo is mandatory for egg, tuna & potato salads, although I also like German style potato salad. But I'll usually add tabasco to all of those. Yep mayo is good on potato salad too, I like mine with little bits of fresh apple in it. I enjoy German Style and Penn Dutch potato salad. Another good one is an Italian potato salad that a deli not far from where I live makes. That potato salad has oil and vinegar with capers. To each their own, as with the potato salad with bits of apple in it, I didn't think I was going to like the Italian potato salad, but both salads are delicious.

I had a cousin we called Garlic Nan. Never brushed her teeth.
I knew someone that was given an Italian American slang nicknamed that means smelly. I was in an elevator with him one time and actually felt nauseous and felt like vomiting. The smell was so bad that I thought I stepped in crap. lol! I can laugh about it now, but at the time it wasn't funny. In my opinion, the guy smelled worse than a horse after a race. Early in my career I was a shift supervisor at a large data center. We had a lot of employees and encountered many strange personnel challanges. One of the guys who worked for me had a really bad body odor problem from poor hygiene and occassionally we would have to request he go home and take a shower. What was interesting is it never seemed to embarrass him at all. I think the conversation was more embarrassing for me. One day he showed up to work and there was a car tire track on the back of his shirt. I regret to this day not asking him how it got there.

My wife loved growing basil and tomatoes to make Caprese and pizza. I miss growing herbs, except for mint, which just takes over everything. I do miss my Mojitos though. I grew San Marzano and other variety of tomatoes but decided to not grow them this season. San Marzano/Roma are great paste tomatoes in making sauce. Wanted to limit my growth to make it more manageable. Indeed sliced tomatoes, sliced fresh mozzarella, and fresh basil is delicious on hot summer days. And who can resist home made pizza? Yummy!!! I loved picking cherry tomatoes, blister them in olive oil/garlic toss in pasta and a handful of basil. Adding cheese if desired. A quick meal on hot summer nights. Ever tried hot honey drizzled on pizza? Try it, brand of choice is Brooklyn's own Mikes Extra Hot Honey and Bees Knees Spicy Honey, Hot honey is also great drizzled on barbecue ribs/chicken (yummy on wings). One thing I appreciate about our new home is that I'm learning so much more about some of the YES posters. Lauren, you sound like a fabulous chef!

She played some really funny characters on SNL...Sinead O'Connor, Tammy Faye Bakker, Kathy Lee Gifford and, of course, one of The Sweeney Sisters. I forgot to mention Maya Rudolph. "Bronx Beat" with Amy Poehler was hilarious...and spot on. I had no idea that Hooks passed away from cancer in 2014 until I looked her up because of her mention here…

They did a reunion with many of the ladies of SNL several years ago. She was so sick she couldn't attend, but she did a remote appearance from her home in Woodstock. I think she died shortly after that.

I love this thread and message board! Where else can we talk about food, SNL, and share funny body odor stories. I have learned a lot on this message board, especially in the trivia and music threads.

Maybe you do, but I still don’t think Gleyber can handle third base and that the Yankees were idiots for not trading for Burns (Burnes)… 😂😈. Hahaha. So glad we can all now make innocent comments without that BS…

I always stayed away from the political forum. Yes...I know. Good place for me to vent... Bob, I'm a moderate independent and find the lack of civility and ability to compromise in today's politics unbearable. And that's all I will say about that!

Yes...I know. Good place for me to vent... Bob, I'm a moderate independent and find the lack of civility and ability to compromise in today's politics unbearable. And that's all I will say about that! Me as well. I registered as an Independent 52 years ago and haven’t wavered since… in my extremely Democratic home county at the time the lady working the polls tried to persuade me to register Democratic, which I’m quite sure is illegal, but I stuck to my guns. I always say I sit on the top of the fence and can keep one leg on each side or swing them both over either side as needed…🤓

San Marzano tomatoes are excellent. Did you ever watch Stanley Tucci's CNN show? It's very good. Anyway, it's offical Lauren, you now made me get hungry on not one but two message boards. I remember on the YES board you sharing some of the food you made. Yes, I watched the entire series. Another season of Stanley Tucci is coming soon.
