We knew the injuries were bad: Okay, so I pushed the like button on this, but obviously I dislike the information while liking only the oddity that it announces... while wishing it was being announced for a different team, if it had to happen at all. This sort of recondite record must belong to someone, but when it’s the team you root for you realize that the only way it could ever become a badge of honor or something we can point to with a small amount of pride will be if this team overcomes the bloodletting to a level of supreme accomplishment. So... do you “get” what I’m liking here? Because frankly, I’m a bit lost...and don’t blame the Ambien. I just took it a couple of minutes ago. (Now that I’m not as stressed and don’t usually have to rise as early, I can take it later)...

I've been a huge Bird fan for years, amazing how much has changed since his debut in 2015. This stinks and I do feel for him. Yanks did him no favors misdiagnosing his foot injury in 2017, and it's now not far-fetched to think it's still affected him in 2018 and now 2019. I dont think anyone can question the potential talent he possesses, but part of being a solution to a team is being healthy and available, which he hasn't been the last 3-4 seasons. Hopefully he can find it, but not likely to be in NY anymore.
Bottom line, the organization has had big-time success developing this roster from within mainly, sometimes you get hit with some disappointments. Bird falls into that category unfortunately.

I don't even know what to day about Bird anymore. On the flip side, welcome to the show, Mike Ford.

A plantar fascia tear is not the same as fasciitis. Fasciitis is essentially inflammation, painful as hell but treatable. A tear could mean the premature end of his playing career, not immediately but soon.

Bird to the DL with plantar fascitis LOL I think the Greg Bird era with the Yankees is over Honestly, I hope so. Nothing personal but this injury doesn't explain his awful batspeed this season and last. Let's assume he's a nice guy, no hard feelings but I don't want to see him on this team again. Best wishes for a successful career and life doing something else.

You may need to find new work. Of course, there you won’t find an injured list where her pay and free medical care, so choose wisely...

Difficult to create torque if you have a weak base. Feet are the only anchor to the ground. Try swinging a golf club with plantar fasciitis...same thing is true.

If George was still alive (I know one of your favorite themes), he would have faxed him his DFA papers by now and blustered all over the press about what a waste the kid was. Then he would have hired him to coach a Rookie League team when he started to feel even more like an ass than usual...
