His career has been over for a while now. The memo just hadn’t reached him yet. If George was still alive (I know one of your favorite themes), he would have faxed him his DFA papers by now and blustered all over the press about what a waste the kid was. Then he would have hired him to coach a Rookie League team when he started to feel even more like an ass than usual... The team has been patient with him and I get why because if he were healthy he's shown real talent. Whether it is health or something else causing the lack of batspeed, the kid can't hit now and he can't stay healthy. It is what it is.

Here’s hoping the Urshela mirage can continue to appear until Andujar returns... (:

According to the Yankees Twitter page, they expect Thairo Estrada to be called up to replace Aaron Judge on the roster. Next man up. Good thing we didn't sign Bryce Harper.

I don't get the Estrada call-up. I get that he's ML-ready, but Estrada is an IF who doesn't bring much power to the plate. They need a guy to play RF/CF, not another SS. What a shame the Yanks' are so banged-up that they have so little OF depth. On the other hand, both Frazier and Tauchman have looked good, the former especially. Tauchman's HRs were crushed. Might the Yanks have found another diamond-in-the-rough a la Luke Voit? I like his swing in YS.

It's crazy how many injuries this team has had in such a short time period.

Yeah, I am amazed at how well Tauchman has performed so far. And Frazier has been insane. Basically those guys have to pick up the slack for Judge and Stanton for at least a few weeks. Hard to believe.
Defensively, the alignment of DJLM, Torres and Urshela is way better than anything else the Yanks could put out there. I could live with that.

The Estrada call up is logical because he’s the only one still alive in the Yankee minor league system... I do think it represents as much of a faith in Frazier and Tauchman as it represents our lack of healthy depth in the minors...

The injuries aren't limited to the major league Yankees.

The injuries aren't limited to the major league Yankees. A guy would have been less likely to be hurt in the Normandy landings than playing for the Yankees.

Joe Sheehan on Twitter, "We haven't seen this many Yankees go down since Antietam."
