This isn’t surprising. He’s in rehab now and then is missing ST. Wouldn’t make sense to rush him back.

Agsin, I’d be willing to bet that Severino doesn’t pitch in a game until late May, early June.

I just saw a Tweet from a reporter in the Yankee clubhouse who said Ellsbury is walking gingerly. Another said he's hitting off a tee and playing catch at short distances.

I do all of those things, especially the walking gingerly part...Maybe I can get some time as a back up outfielder on the Yanks, too. What a strange language that a word that is used to identify a spice also can be used to indicate someone may be walking with some pain or difficulty. It could also be said that someone walking quickly was moving with pepper, I suppose. Odd...No wonder we seem to be such a convoluted people...

Yankees CF Hicks (back) to miss opening series
New York Yankees center fielder Aaron Hicks will miss Opening Day and likely begin the regular season on the injured list because of a lower back injury he has been dealing with since early March, manager Aaron Boone told reporters Sunday morning.

Back injuries are tricky, so I'm getting worried about Hicks.

Damn Hicksie...always battling that injury bug. Thats going to be the trouble with his contract extension, not talent.

Back injuries are tricky, so I'm getting worried about Hicks. Back injuries are a likely result when you decide to add forty pounds of muscle in one off season and then return to activities that require flexibility. You have to admire his intent and dedication, but that wasn’t a wise choice in my opinion. Twenty pounds this year and twenty pounds next year? Probably nowhere near as risky...

I didnt even think that would be possible in a single baseball offseason.
