I had forgotten Kaufman no longer has AstroTurf. Hearing the stories about how players cleats used to melt playing on that stuff during games makes me dislike it even more. I never had the “pleasure” of playing on it, but nothing I’ve ever seen or heard makes me feel like I’ve missed out on something good...

We’re also seeing a pretty good version of Junis today. He had his typical first inning problems, but to his credit, he’s gotten it together.
For a young guy, he’s not a bad finesse guy when he has his command. Despite his struggles this and last year he’s a bit like Happ from the right side. He just needs to taste some success and he could be a guy that gets better as the years pile up, and could age gracefully like J.A. has...

Just got in. How does Happ look so far? Only one hit allowed so far I see. Command is much better, given up a couple of long flyballs mixed in with plenty of strike outs. |

One of my old college roommates played high school football on astro turf and said it was just like playing on that green carpet that people used to put on their back porches that sort of looked like grass. He had brush burns all over his arms from landing on that stuff. |
