I don't think Hicks is getting traded., since for the future, he's the team's best defensive CF. Gardner is 36 and a free agent. Maybin is in his low 30's, a free agent. Hicks and Stanton will be needed next season. Unless Tauchman keeps hitting.

Management is going to have a tough time rethinking what this team has done and how it was accomplished. Seems to me the current mix has shown that putting the bat on the ball, especially with runners on, is a better way to go than 10 k's and a hr. To me it has shown that hitting and defense is better than relying on home runs alone particularly when they come with a ton of k's. Not that we don't hit home runs. We just are not one dimensional

Probably not but it's hard to tell at this point. He sure seems to be more consistent hitting. Hicks is very inconsistent and he seems to get hurt quite a bit.

He is in his seventh full season and has been on the IL at least once in each of them. Only once has he had more than 100 hits. Fortunately for him, it was 2017 and resulted in a nice long-term contract. But he's a half year to two thirds of a year player.

this has been a great year (in terms of the yankees) for people like me who like hitting, good defense, and a lot fewer strike outs. People who don't really like moneyball baseball.

It is kind of hard to judge Tauchman not big enough sample size as inger's thread reminds us
